Most of the time they themselves are not aware of the recent changes Seems that the product ID has a 'B' instead of an 'A' in the pre Jan 15th model Can any one confirm this..???

S swiftman macrumors newbie Jan 15, 2008 20 0 Jan 28, 2008 #5 however.... "B" does not mean it is a new manufacture. i bought a "b" version and it was a week 38. they just took left over stock and updated them and put them back in the box.

Ish macrumors 68020 Nov 30, 2004 2,278 890 UK Jan 28, 2008 #6 I bought an iPt recently and was reading the box to see if I could tell whether it was a new one or an older one. On the back it said in the first paragraph "iTunes 7.4 or later" so I knew it wasn't a new one. The new ones require iTunes 7.6.

Not necessarily the 'B' version thing, because as stated above some models that have been available for months are 'B' versions.
