Did you just install it now, and it won't open, or have you opened it before?
Do other iLife apps open?
Try opening Disk Utility->Click your HD->Repair Disk

just quit perhaps it dont work? :(

its a new imac.

launched now, but I create a new project, save the name and the program quits. no errors
 
repaired permissions. still quitting when creating a project. repair disk is greyed out, cant click it :(

I didnt install, came on the new imac. other apps work. this is first time opening idvd
 
decided to call apple support. use my 90 days complimentary service.:)

the guy said iDVD not launching is a known issue. he had me delete all its file and custom install from the dvds. seems to work fine now. :)
