idvd and toast

every second dvd i try to burn in either of these applications crashes..either system error in toast or idvd just crashes..
its driving me nuts,anyone?????😡

or can anyone suggest an alterative dd burner i can download?

Does iDVD crash or does it just take a REALLY LONG time? The DVD burner on my PB is a 2X and depending on the length of the project it can take hours to burn the first copy.

idvd takes 7 hours to burn a movie
toast takes 6 hours..
when i say crash,a box says "idvd has quit etc"

what happens is when im burning on idvd a message half way through the burn pops up and says "idvd has unexpectedly quit" any suggestions as to why this is happening?.

Hi, your going to need to give more info about your system, the OSX (Tiger?), the drive (SD and what speed), what iLife your using, what Toast (5, 6, 7) your using and if you've done any and all updates with the Apps. mentioned as well as the brand of dvd your trying to use with this. Also what type of dvd i.e. copyright won't work and will quit or never start the burn process 😉 However if it is from your own camcorder say, then we can move to the next step to help you burn what you need.
