iDVD External Optical

Hello,
I've read in several places that iDVD doesn't have support for external optical drives I was wondering if the most recent version of iDVD has this issue, I currently have iDVD that came with iLife '06 and I regularly use Apple Software Update. If this is still the case is there a hack or patch or something that would allow it to work, I have heard several people say that they just use Toast but I am very interested in just using iDVD its the most practical for me. Thanks any help would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure the current version of iDVD works with external burners. If you don't have success for some reason, try www.patchburn.de.
