When someone has taken the time out of thier day to educate, enlighten or help you, it is civilised & polite to give some feedback on the information or at least say thanks, i get it now. Thats how civilised conversations work. It is rude & ignorant to say nothing.

Perhaps I am dealing with someone who has not been taught any manners, in which case, I apologise, it is not your fault, but perhaps you will learn from your experience here.

Your original post had a incorrect heading and at the time I read more into that post regarding handling of HD material by iDVD. You responded appropriately to the first. I've just re-read your first post and decided that I was off on that second part. That I do apologize for since it did cause you to spend time on expanding your response.

I think I've also left you with the impression that I don't understand this resolution mess. I do understand it and therefore didn't see a need to respond to your clarified second post which is what I really was targeting for others. Yes, based on my misunderstanding I mentioned above. My terse response probably hasn't helped here. Thank you for the clarification.

I've learned to accept that people on forums don't always give acknowledgement or direct thanks. I'll consider if that has rubbed off on me. Perhaps my 99.97% response post rate has made me somewhat oblivious to the opposite side in forum conversations.

Civilized conversations vary by medium. In a face to face conversation much more information is being exchanged and in this case I'd probably would have simply said 'OK' to your second response and the conversation would have continued with much more back and forth discussion. That luxury isn't afforded on forums where the response rate can be minutes, days, or never. In forums when I see someone still in the conversation after I've posted something, I generally assume that they have read it. That to me is a virtual 'OK'.

As for good manners. Only in extreme situations would I even consider questioning yours.
