hey im new to mac, working on my MBP brand new.. love it, but i have been having some problems regarding file format to use for all these programs... I have a lot of files in mpg format, because that is what i formatted them as on my windows machine. But in iDVD, when i am under the section mirror chapters, and i want to go ahead and add a movie, i drag the mpg file into the spot, and iDVD says that it does not support that action, so i converted it to avi, and that works. But iDVD also does not support .vob files, which is what a dvd is composed of. So is avi the only format that iDVD can handle, and i have to convert all of my files? because everything that i have is in mpeg, and i dont want to have to convert 300gb of mpeg video.

And then, the files that i converted to avi cannot be played in quicktime. I dont want to have 5 diff formats and copies of my video, just so that i can use each program.

p.s. i am using VisualHub to convert my files
