Newbie question. I have never done video editing before. I edited a movie in imovie. Then I went to create a dvd in idvd. When I finished and went to burn, it took 2 hours to do it's thing. Is this the normal amount of time it takes. It is only a 20 minute video and I added 2 songs in idvd. I am using a 2.5 macbook pro with 4 gigs of ram. Thanks.

iDVD can take forever to convert the video, it takes a full work day for a normal video dvd on my MacBook, so it could very well take that long for just a 20 min video. Other dvd software is much quicker, however you can't make very nice dvds in comparison, it's really too bad.

Video transcoding is heavy-duty work. Most people just getting into video are surprised by how long it takes. When working with video, you'll definitely learn patience.

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering if that was normal.
