Hi,
If you go to the pictures page of my website in Firefox or Safari, linked from my sig or here, you will see a menu at the top for navigating the site with spaced links. However, in IE 5.23 for Mac, the links all bunch at the center. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

Also, if someone with IE6 on their machine could try to load the page and tell me if the issue persists in that version of IE, I would appreciate it.

Thanks a lot.

p.s. Also, the font "andale mono" shows up fine in IE and Firefox for the places I have selected it, which includes the aforementioned menu. But in Safari, it's not consistent (you'll see what I mean). Non-link text displays correctly, links are in the backup font. Any idea why? I feel like I'm missing something obvious here ...

you should REALLY learn how to use CSS

and do you mean that in firefox they show up like:

and in IE they show up like

Yeah, thus far I've barely learned enough to put up what I have already put up. Still, all my pages use CSS, and a few subpages use a common external .css too.

in Safari and Firefox, the links are properly spaced h o r i z o n t a l l y (where each letter represents a link), but in IE they are bunched together, though still horizontal.

If it works in IE6 and this is only an IE5 thing, I'll probably just live with it.

Yeah, it was even worse in IE6. I tried a few alternatives and then gave up, for now, and put in something simpler.

I was actually able to get one version up that worked in everything I could test, and in IE6, but did NOT work in IE5 for Mac! I know almost no one uses it, but I still see it trotted out occasionally.

And by the way, the first version I made (that worked on all but IE6, albeit oddly in IE5 for Mac) was fully CSS-compliant. The version I adapted from www.wellstyled.com/css-inline-buttons.html worked in IE6, but set off the CSS validator alarm bells.

But ultimately I'm just playing around here; this would be nice but I am severely lacking the skills to do it right.
