I'm sorry to tell you this but the Apple will detect you have activated the device a day early and use their remote detonation software to destroy it.

Make sure you aren't holding the iPhone while they send out the command as plenty of people have been severely injured from this.

I’d be surprised if the activation server would even talk to the device early, but the worst that would happen is the retailer and/courier would get in trouble with Apple.

As a customer, it’s not considered your fault or your problem!
