The thing that annoys me the most about Apple is that it´s not like they couldn't satisfy me. They could, but they won´t, huge difference.

That is quite a sense of entitlement you got there.

In other words, they will be holding back technology tomorrow, which will probably sell more toys to poor people and generate more profits for Apple.

Let´s face it, Apple is turning their back on the Pro people and embracing "regular folks", ´cause there are simply lot more of them.

I wish there was two categories, iPad and iPad Pro for people, who want more than toys and are of course willing to pay more.

And how is this different from other companies? They make their decisions on satisfying the greater number of customers as possible. Which creates the greatest profit. Does this mean some are going to be left out? Yes, it does. It is unfortunate, but that is the way life is sometimes.

Two cameras on the iPad is a ridiculous idea by the way. Just saying.

Why would it be ridiculous?

In the enterprise it could be extremely useful for some, or more importantly perhaps, it could eliminate the ipad as an option for some business applications.

The stupid thing is, when I actually think about it, it's probably more the software that gives the iPad the limitations that I find than the hardware.

Quite a number of times in the past I have asked how can I do this, or why can't I do that and I've had the reply that you can if you jailbreak it.
This is not something I wish to do.
But as I say, most of my frustration come from deliberate restrictions as opposed to hardware limitations.

My fear is, in the future, the hardware will get better, but the things that annoy will still be in place.
What I will do, I don't know yet. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I don't understand the need for a higher resolution. For video 720p is fine on my 42" television at home, and I can't imagine NEEDING anything like 1080p on a 10" tablet. It seems unnecessary to me. Same with photos. Why does everyone want a huge resolution for a small display? Am I missing something?

The only people who want 1080p on a 10" screen are specs whores. You will NEVER see the difference when watching films, not to mention that there is NO iTunes content at 1080p. It just isn't going to happen.

One iPod was called the iPod Video but that's not important. It depends on whether they follow the iTouch or the iPhone naming conventions. It also depends on whether they keep an iPad 1 around as the budget version, although even when they kept the previous gen shuffle next to the buttonless one they still called them both the Shuffle. Regadless, it silly to call it the iPad FT just because it doesn't have a retina display.

Actually the 5th generation iPod was referred to sometimes as "iPod with Video" but officially it was still part of the original iPod line (as opposed to say, the iPod photo).

the camera will be decent but i hope it can be used on webcam sites and stuff like that. not just 'facetime' , i don't think i ever plan to facetime anyone i know at the moment but maybe if it works well i would do that. could be a fun feature maybe . i hope the ipad 2 has something more to it than that though

720p is fine (excellent actually) for 42 inch TVs.

What you have left out of the equation is viewing distance.

10-15ft vs 12-18 inches, and it makes a huge difference, particularly for text.

Anyone who owned an iphone with/without a retina screen can fully attest to the HUGE difference the added pixel density made.

Has nothing to do with video.

Don't see why there's a need for Retina display on an iPad - the current display seem sharp enough. It would be nice addition obviously but not a deal breaker by any means if it doesn't materialise on iPad2. It's more relevant in a smaller screen on the iPhone / iPod Touch.

If you want sharper screen on the iPad, hold it closer to your face like an iPhone :D

Most to expect tomorrow is RAM upped to 512mb and front camera.

Has anyone seen this guys past posts. Why even bother responding. You'd have better luck advertising the iPad on an Android forum than trying to talk sense into him.

If a 10" screen in your mind should not have a resolution of say 1080 in the vertical direction, when in landscape mode, instead of the 768 we currently have.

Which would actually just be 40% more pixels.

Do you also feel that Apple were wrong in putting the new screen on the iPhone4. As thas has a much much higher pixel density in its tiny 3.5" screen than putting 1080 pixels on a 10" screen?

You WOULD see the difference in in a higher resolution iPad, considering the pixels are easily distinguishable, and the iPhone make's the iPad look like going from a 1080P LED to a 480p tube TV. Okay... not quite that dramatic but still... It is pretty bad.

lol... 29% to be exact.

I have to agree with the original poster in so far as that hardware specs don't really change the user interface all that much or the overall experience compared to the original iPad. The camera is welcoming addition which I would use for facetime while traveling. However I'm more interested to see what Apple does with iOS 5.

All these updates that people are excited about, like 1G RAM, dualcore processor or a front facing camera just seems so lame to me. I just don´t get what the fuzz is about these updates? I just know tomorrow´s gonna suck!

Double the resolution, add Flash in Safari and I´m impressed.

If they have that market share then they've already earned it; why do they have to show they 'deserve' it? Did they somehow get it unfairly?

When you get paid, does your boss say 'now you need to show you deserve that money'?

No but if you aren't performing well at your job, you will probably get fired...just like if Apple fails to deliver, they will lose customers.

If tomorrow Apple introduces a Teleportation Machine, I'm quite sure that within two weeks we'll have someone whining that using it wrinkles their clothes, or bitching that the software that runs it is a "walled garden." And within six months some irritating little troll will show up on this forum blathering about how the upcoming Samsung Trandroid Transportation system is much superior for "power users" like him.

I think some people just like being unhappy. Think about how things were in the past. I'm not talking about a hundred years ago - when most Americans would have been thrilled with hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, and electric light. I'm talking TEN years ago: In 2000 less than 3% of households had broadband internet connections. WiFi was unknown outside the tech industry. And the most interesting thing you could download on your mobile phone was a ringtone. And yet people lived interesting, productive, and happy lives.

I'm not saying anyone should put up with bad products, or not follow - with interest - the latest offerings from Apple, Google, HP, etc.

Whatever Apple introduces tomorrow, don't take it personally. Take a look at what they have to say, and what they show us. If it looks interesting or potentially useful to you - go check it out in a store. If not - forget about it. I'm quite certain many hundreds of thousands of people will feel differently. And I'm quite sure that tens of thousands of Apple and their partner employees haven't been working lo these many months just to piss you off.

I'm more excited about the other announcements than the iPad. Namely, iOS 5, MobileMe, lion, etc.
