If I download files using Windows, put them to external hard drive and later upload to Mac from external drive, how big is chance they might have Mac malware?

Like, if surfing with Windows, wouldn't any potential malicious source detect it as Windows and not even try to offer Mac malware? Including video/music/image files?

I mean, the ads depend on if you're using Mac or PC... I think.

same odds. What type of files are you downloading?

Same odds getting Mac malware with Windows as with using Mac?
mp4, mp3 (video, music)
jpg, jpeg, png, gif (images)
webm (video)

I got some very old wmv, avi, rmvb and flv video and bmp images ones on CDs I burned I plan on putting to Mac as well.
