I'd want it to be faster.
It could be the fastest web-based services and it wouldn't mean diddlysquat if it's always down! Hmph. So I'd make dotmac never go down. Argh! And yes, speed wouldn't hurt, nor would the offered capacity per account.

I would like .mac to give iWeb pro for free (if it ever materializes...) :D

I would be happy with a price cut.

1. Hmm...maybe bundle a .Mac lite subscription (limited to mail/chat screenname) with each computer, get more people using .Mac for mail and for chat.

2. Continue to sell the existing services (iDisk, web services), make them faster and increase the storage and uptime.

I like that a lot. I think they should also offer more and better freebees. Much more backup storage. The downtime has been a problem again recently.

My top request for dot Mac and iWeb is to allow embed code for video sharing sites like YouTube.

Or does it already allow this? I'm not talking about going into iWeb pages later with a text editor.

Ok, about point 1, You can have a screen name for free. After the "try it for free" period, you can keep it. Meaning that you can always buy/upgrade your .mac.

About Mail, well, I like it. But there is a lot still to improve.

An "iWeb-.Mac"/iLife Bundle would be nice.

5GB of space
Make it faster! Go to my portfolio site in my sig! It takes forever and the thing is optimized like a speed demon!

Allow me to sync 3rd party apps via .mac (providing the apps support the SDK)

Give me a web front end for writing iCal data. Include support for Google Calendar and create and iCalWeb app or something.

Give iWeb users FTP access as well.

Increase the storage space. Allow Time Machine snapshots to reside on iDisk storage.

Add video and audio Podcasting

the missing ical support should be in the next update!

access to my key chain items from any computer would be neat although it could be a security risk.

main thing should be reliability and speed in all functions. my renewal is up in 15 days and the reliability problems make me hesitate to pay the $100.

include it free with every new mac and/or iLife purchase

or kill it off, not much there at the end of the week.

That depends. I'm not using .mac yet but it's value increases proportionally with the macs you add to your home. Right now I just have a mini and soon enough I'll have a Macbook. The minute that second computer hits you instantly have sync requirements if you want both on the same page. Thus the $100 would be nothing considering the hassle trying to sync bookmarks, mail accounts, calendar data etc manually.

The iDisk features are cool as well I'd just like to see more space. I agree though Apple could give a free year of .mac with every Mac purchase and really swell up the amount of users. Once you get someone hooked on a way of doing things the $8 a month isn't such a big deal when they are faced with the option of losing features that have become cherished.

i just wish that apple could incorporate return receipt on the web based email.

dot mac is overpriced... but i just renewed it... i'm an :apple: sucker...

My renewal was at the end of this month and I decied it was just not worth it anymore, over $200  I am using Google Gmail now for free with 1GB of free mail space and just love it. I also went with HostRocket.Com for my hosting needs at a super cheap almost give away monthy fee and there servers are lighting fast! so long .Mac it was nice to know you but not worth my money.

When? ohhh when ? are we gonna see an upgrade??
I'd definitely reactivate my account if they provided just more space. Com'on guys!

Let's just make a petition :p

I'd like to sync more things. In particular my iTunes scripts folder, and general system / specific app preferences (my palette layout in Photoshop for example).

I'm still just in my trial period and this thread actually reminded me to go try iChat! Cool.

It's not that expensive when you consider it's only about $10 a month when you break it down. If you have more than 1 Mac, the sync feature alone is worth $10.

I would like it to have more space. 1GB is nothing in today's world when it comes to storage.

Better syncing, even if just with browsers/bookmarks. Firefox, in particular.

At least make it Firefox friendly to use. I just finished syncing my Safari bookmarks, and opened them up in Firefox. I get this nifty popup menu, that's not too bad to navigate. But when I click one of my bookmarks, it opens up in a new tab within the little popup menu, rather than in the main window.

If anyone knows a way around these things, btw, I'm all ears.
