If you have a problem it in the future, after restoring, and need help, its like this...

You "Hi, I need my itouch replaced. Will you help?"

Apple: "Sure."

Or..

You "Hi, I need my itouch replaced. It was jailbroke, but now its not. Will you help?"

Apple "No, your warranty is void."

The less they know, the better.

Of course not!
Use your common sense!
If jailbreak it, and then you restore your wiping everything off the hard drive!
Theres nothing there!
So how will they know?
Go jailbreak it if you want, but do it at your own risk!

But when you restore your ipod touch/iphone it puts everything right back on...it just takes a while depending on how much you have on it :apple:

Don't jailbreak in the warranty year

You all are wrong,do you guys think apple is so dum,no their not,if you jailbreak your idevice, the serial number changes and when you restore again, the serial number is the same when you jailbreak,so the apple comes to know you have jailbreak.but for a warranty you need a bill in the bill the serial number is written,so if it is different they remove the warranty right there.

All I want to do is get Screen Recorder so I can start a YouTube series. I don't want to cause a fuss but your battery can wear down to nothing (permenently), the problem is that when you jailbreak, you may forget to Unjailbreak before the time is too late. So when you hand it over the counter, they'll send it away to get fixed but you may get it back the way you gave it to them.

As the title says, I am very tempted to Jailbreak my Touch, but was wondering.

I know it breaks my warranty, but if I restore, will my warranty still be gone? How will they know that I have jailbroken?

no warranty will be back

You know how I covered up my jail break? I spent all twelve of my Glock 40's rounds in my iPod and sent it in. They replaced it.

It's obvious this guy has no idea what he's talking about and/or is trolling.

Don't feed him.
