and get a time of well beyond the nov 3 release can I cancel my order and get my money back? Cause if I don’t get lucky enough to order fast enough then I don’t want to wait longer than original release date for the phone.

You cannot cancel your order or receive a refund. So says I random forum poster on rumour website.

You don’t get charged until it’s being processed for shipping. So no, OP. There is no refund to give.

Why on earth would you not just wait? You're not going to get it any faster if you cancel your pre-order. And if you do it fast enough, even with a delay, you might be looking at just an extra week or two.

or maybe 6-8 weeks or more. The demand will be insane, just like for last year's Jet Black phones, most people had to wait 4-8 weeks easily, and especially for the Plus model. It'll be the same for X, thanks to the limited supply till first half of 2018.

Yeah, so still the question - why cancel? If you have to wait on your 3am pre-order, the odds aren't going to be any better trying to find an alternative method.

OP said he doesnt want to wait any longer than 3rd Nov. A lot of people don't want to wait, they've been waiting since a long time already. The 8 and 8+ are available and supply is good, it's much better to buy them and wait for next year's X which will have much better supply and will have fixes for potential issues that the X may have.

Exactly what ssrij said lol last year I didn’t get my jet black + until 3 weeks after release...I’m not gona wait for a phone any longer since it’s already being delayed to begin with and possibly being delayed again when you order lol if that’s the case I’ll just wait for next years phone.

Then understand timing is of the essence when you pre-order. If you do so immediately within the first few minutes, then you have a chance of receiving the device perhaps earlier than later.

I predict many will buy the X in 2018 when it is available to walk in and get.

I would be upset if I were not getting first delivery day on the X but would likely not wait till the Xs!

I guess my thing is, you are ordering the X for a reason - Because you want it. Sure, you can cancel it if you don't want to wait past launch day, and go ahead and get the 8 or 8 Plus, or even keep your current phone. Again though, you are ordering the X because you want it and you don't like those other options as much. Why not just order it and wait for it?

I will be doing the same if the iPhone 10 is 6 to 8 weeks or more away after the 03/11 then I will cancel and live with an 8 Plus till September 18 and then get the next gen iPhone 10.

However if it's 2 to 4 weeks after the 03/11 I would rather carry on waiting.

Apple only had 10 years to figure this all out but yet seemed like they waited for the last minute! They have kept the same design for the past 4 years so not much effort was spent on those phones except for the usual spec upgrades!

10 years to figure what out? I doubt their engineers waited last minute for anything. Six years of research and development even bring some of this technology before it's ready to launch to the public.

And I also disagree, even though we saw the same form factor with the iPhone 6/6S/7/8, you can't say there was "Not so much effort spent on those phones for the usual spec upgrades". Each phone has unique identifying upgraded features that made it better every year.

Right ...there was the usual spec bumps and a dual lens camera on the plus , other than that it was pretty much the same. Oh don’t allow me to forget the force touch

That's not what I was referring to, which was Over the course of four generation iPhones, not one Model. And all you list is "dual camera and usual spec upgrades" ? Allow me to refresh your memory with Tru-tone, 3D Touch, wireless charging, stereo speakers, water resistance, haptic home button, etc. But I'm assuming you're going to reply instead that those are the "Usual spec upgrades". Am I right?

Tell em...the phone 6 to 8 saw significant upgrades

Depending on how bad it is I might just skip it. Let’s say it’s soenthing crazy like three months. At that point I’m already half way into what will likely be next year’s phone cycle. There are too many unknowns not the least of which is pricing next year; sales will likely dictate this. Apple usually get pricing right, but not always. Obviously release date is up in the air too.

For someone that typically keeps their phones for multiple years I can see more willingness to just wait it out. For those upgrading yearly this release adds quite a few variables into the mix that we didn’t have before.

I will collect them, since I live in The Netherlands.

Anyone want to make a pre pre order?

I have about 46,000 units by Wednesday.

$ 2200 for the 64Gb
$ 2400 for the 256Gb

be quick! :cool:

According to a new report, Foxconn has sent out 46,500 units from its facilities in Zhengzhou and Shanghai, headed for the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates (UAE), respectively.
https://www.cultofmac.com/508623/foxconn-apparently-shipped-first-batch-iphone-x-orders/

46,500 units each to both? Or a total of 46,500 to be distributed between UAE and Netherlands? I wonder why Apple chose those two countries as destinations for the first shipment.

Also, with a population of 18M in Netherlands, that's 1 iPhone X per 387 people (or 1 iPhone X per 774 people if units are being split equally between UAE and Netherlands). If Apple is only planning to sell half of the 46500 units in Netherlands, the pre orders will be an absolute **** show!

We have the European Distribution Centre of Apple here in The Netherlands. From here they will be shipped to European countries
