If I reinstall OS X on my early 2008 Mac Pro, will my software RAID still be recognised?

I'm concerned that as my RAID is not in hardware its existence may be stored somewhere in the system. If the system forgets it is there then I will lose my data.

I don't have enough external storage to back up more than the essentials, nor do I currently have the money (or desire) to buy any more external storage.

I filled the three empty bays in my MP with 750Gb HDs a while ago and created a couple of software RAID partitions between them (specifically, I made a relatively small partition on each then created a RAID scratch volume from those and a larger RAID volume from the remaining space).

Although I've kept things fairly trim with MainMenu over the years I'd like to do a fresh install to clear out some of the junk.
