Why not do it properly? You're a developer no?

Oui, but I do not use my Mac mini much. It is an older one, just scraping having Intel. So I do some work there when I have to (I'm just saving up for an MBP), but it is not primary.

Still, do talk. How did you get it to work?

Extract the ipsw from the dmg file.

So, I will download it.
Open the ipsw with winrar
extract the dmg
and mess with what?

But do I modify anything?
And MagicISO says it is not a cd image.

I used vfdecrypt to decrypt it. None of the dmgs work (first was encrypted, second didn't work, third decrypted.)

Still doesn't work...

Wait, do I just need the decrypted fs? If that's the case, can I just replace it in the ipsw?

Okay.

So should I use vfdecrypt every new beta and add it back to install on Windows?

Just wanted to add that for me, 4.0 is extremely stable. Not trying to convince anyone to change their minds or that dropping $100 only to try the beta is a good idea (it's great motivation to start learning obj-c though) but I am pretty amazed at how solid this beta is. I would say the 3.0 GM was not much more stable than this. 3.1.3 is for sure but you can very easily use an iPhone with 4.0 as your primary device. I use it to learn coding with and as my primary work phone. I honestly feel it's become an even better phone since I installed the beta. Way fewer dropped calls or data connections at home and work.

And to answer the OP, it's either $99 or finding a dev to add your UDID which is not very hard.

To be honest, this is exactly what I did when 3.0 came out. I paid the 99$ to just be able to download the Beta and ended up coding up a couple of apps that have paid the cost of the developer license multiple times over.

What you need to do is wait for a public release. The 4.0 Beta is developers-only and not intended for use outside of a testing environment. Under no circumstances should it be installed on a phone you use.

Why do people can't wait. Maybe you want to brag that you have the OS4.

I suppose you could also brag that the software bricked your device if it went wrong...

Yeah sure, with no bugs:rolleyes:

wahh wahh wahh:rolleyes:
