I agree. Aesthetically, OSX is better. But window previews are very nice. There is an OSX program out there that allows for window previews in the dock. It's always one of my first installs

I always install Hyperdock. It's great. I wish Apple would include it natively. And I beat you to mentioning it by 15 minutes in the post above you, though you saved me with the program's name

The price is a bit silly. It is a handy thing to have though.
