Just a thought experiment. I wonder if more people would have gotten JB, or stuck with the classic SG?

Happy New Year, all.

I would've waited months for jet black over space gray. I agree that space gray was extremely boring in the 6/S. Just looked like a slightly darker version of the silver, IMO.

Given I slap a case on mine and bezel color is more important for me, Space Grey. Not really interested in waiting months for a Jet Black model when I've already been having battery issues with my iPhone 6.

Granted, if Jet Black had good availability, I'd choose Jet Black.

Personally I love the space grey (kept my iPhone 6S as wasn't overly impressed with the iPhone 7) - my 6S is space grey. I just find the two new black colours too dark, and I much prefer the black bezel, really can't have a white front phone.

Suppose I'm gunna have to make my peace with the fact that the two new black colours are here to stay.

Would of stuck with silver, even though it's not an option. But if I was limited to these two options, jet black.

Same here. I'm not really a fan of either matte black or jet black. As silly as it seems, I went back to the 6s due to the lack of compelling features with the 7. Also, I love space gray. I can only hope Apple brings back that color.

I would have still went with the JB I love the classic look of it. It reminds me of the 3G/3GS or and iPhone 4/4s

I would have probably waited a couple of months and gone Jet Black if Matte Black wasn't an option, I do love my Space Grey rMB though...

The space grey on the iPhone was always lighter than space grey used on other Apple devices. It was more silver than anything.

I hated it and that's why I ended up getting a gold 6S plus to change it up at the time.

I don't like Jet Black, and the matte black doesn't look great either (IMO). I'd prefer Space Grey, but I wish they would darken it so it matched the Apple Watch or MacBook.

JB is too high-maintenance...SG for me.

I put it in a case anyway,so falling back to SG instead of matte black is no big deal.

On first glance, I would have definitely said matte/jet black. But, my matte black iPhone 7 is showing some wear along the bottom along the speaker grills and on a corner where I dropped it. The SG finish held up better over time. My 6S+ was immaculate after a year of use. I do kind of wish Apple had left that as an option on the 7, even if the black finish hides the antenna lines better.

So, from an aesthetics and wear over the long term perspective, I would have to go with the space grey. However, that grip on the jet black model is really nice and it makes me wish I had picked that finish over the matte black since it is also showing wear over time.

I would have opted for jet black. I hope they keep this color as its feel and look is familiar to my 5c. I think it's quite beautiful.

Had they released only matte black and space grey, I'd still likely be using my 6s.

I would've went with the jet black but I'm glad they came out with the matte. I hope next year they come out with the dark blue. I'll buy one in a min.

Maybe it's anti-Stockholm Syndrome (must be a more elegant name for it...), but I've come to sort of dislike the Space Grey on my 6 Plus. Didn't mind it at first, but it's just sort of a dirty silver. Much, much prefer the new black options on the 7. In fact, I think I'd be happy with any colour apart from Rose Gold this time around.

That Definitely seems to be the theme now every year. Apple is releasing a new Variant or color. But they definitely seem to be sticking to more neutral/ solid colors with black, silver, gold, etc. But I would like to see some sort of like royal blue or deep blue.

I wish the colors went all the way around. Why on earth do you have a gorgeous rose gold on the back, and then white on the front?! Who even sees the back unless you only use a clear case. Or no case.
