I’m just worried that if I upgrade to iOS 12 when it’s finally released my iPhone X performance will change in some way, shape, or form.

Right now, this is the BEST experience I’ve EVER had on iPhone.

Again, I’m on iPhone X with iOS 11.4.1.

11.4.1 has much better performance compared to 11.3.1 on my X... When iOS 12 releases I’ll have no issues upgrading considering it will focus on performance and efficiency

iOS 11 has had a year of growing pains and is becoming stable.. I'd leave it installed and wait until next spring before considering iOS 12.
MacOS High Sierra was supposed to be a performance release also - and that didn't go down so well. Wait.

I truly envy people who manage to keep their iPhone on the original iOS. I had my old iPhone 6 on iOS 10, wished it was on iOS 8.

Now we have the iPhone X on iOS 11, in a few years, iOS 14 gonna make it slower, then I'll wish i never updated haha

Since iOS 12 is focusing on performance, it would be crazy not to upgrade.

I, probably like millions of users, have never had an issue with any upgrade.

What I find even more astounding, is those who don’t upgrade thinking that iOS is intended to ‘hurt’ their phones or slow them down, when the reality is, there are malicious types of issues like Spectre or meltdown, where the iPhone patches those issues aside from stability and peformance upgrades.

Well Apple DID slow down iPhones for some but of course that was a feature, of course.

ios 12 public bets 3 runs horribly on my 8+. I would AVOID until the final version comes out in September. I barely had issues with the ios 11 public betas on my 7+ and X.

I just wish we could live in a world where we don’t have to worry about software updates.

I want to be able to upgrade to iOS 12 on my iPhone X without worry.

High Sierra bit me, man. I was hoping for another Snow Leopard, instead it started out as another Leopard. It's better now, but I am going to wait to upgrade my Macs to Mojave. I'll also wait a bit before updating to iOS 12.

I do have a non-mission critical iPad running the public beta of iOS 12 and it is stable, but I'm not using it for much either so it's not a fair test.

What's wrong with high sierra? I'm running sierra I think but have been thinking about upgrading for some time. Although, I will say I don't have any major problems with sierra. It's not that snappy unfortunately and maybe even a bit on the slow side, but no problems touch wood.

I'm on a late 2013 rMBP 2.6/8/256

Whats with the worry? Why in the world would you need to worry?

I'm just worried it'll get slow or less snappy overall or my battery life will tank. Or something else I can't even think of.

11.4.1 is the precursor to iOS 12
Apple said it was polishing its Softwate for iOS 12. So it’s worth a shot. I would be surprised if it’s not better overall

This blocks the OTA for up to a year. Each year you need to "renew your block OTA subscription" by installing a new tvOS profile. But currently, this is the best method to block updates without jailbreak.
I admit I just want to be sarcastic. :/

Do you have to have Apple TV to do it?

Nothing wrong with High Sierra today. It was horrible the first few months after release though.
