The thing I want most is a bigger screen. Not just token increase to mere 3.7, but at least 4 to 4.3 inches.

That is so right. As the size of apps is getting bigger, 32GB is definitely not enough!
The number of megapixels on phone camera is getting to a pointless spot. Add all the MP you want but until the physical size of the CCD increases, you won't see much of an increase in image quality, just larger dimension pictures. Take a look at a 3MP and a 5MP phone picture side by side and you'll see what I mean. Displayed at the same size on your computer screen they look almost exactly the same. You won't see much difference in 5MP vs 8MP unless you're printing the pictures off at full size.
HDMI is pretty worthless. There are plenty of phones on the market that have it and I have a number of friends with them but I have yet to EVER see it be used or even hear of anyone using it. It's one of those features that sounds cool but isn't ever used.

I chose battery cause you can always use more battery. I would choose a bump in graphics/processor speed if you listed that though. The iphone 4 could use some more speed (if you game on it, you'll notice). ANd other people list a point I can't believe I keep forgetting, more storage space. I want 64 GB of RAM!
As for the other stuff, don't miss flash honestly (I guess it would be nice but it is really rare I end up even being reminded the phone doesn't do flash), 3D is gimicky and doesn't really add any real function to the phone, sorry, not really sure what I'd do with an HDMI port (nothing I have needs one. Honestly, kinda confused why that is there but a faster processor isn't listed), and I'm happy enough with my camera on my 4 (it's pretty damned good. I was not happy with the 3G's camera),.

1. Better cam although the one in ip4 is very good
2. Droid lockscreen facilities - better than ios5

I think the 4 realistic upgrades (among the fantastical) that would make me happy is:
1) bigger screen: 4" minimum (of course without sacrificing form factor too much)
2) 64gb storage: even without music a lot of apps and games these days are getting quite large. iCloud increases space for some but what about those that don't even store many videos or music on their device?
3) 1gb+ ram: the more the merrier.
4) faster processor: like ram, I never thought I'd feel the need for more on my iPhone 4 this soon but it's becoming more apparent every day.
