There are nearly 1,000 Best Buy stores across the U.S.

Some guy on Reddit finds in one store, iPhone displays were taken down and assumes nothing else (cleaning, software maintenance, theft, etc.).

If something was happening, you would see some action from the world's largest mobile carriers - China Mobile, Vodafone, T-Mobile, etc.

My local Best Buy pulled all IPhones over a year ago because of theft. None of the others. They will bring them out so you can see them if you ask though.

It seems very isolated, I haven't seen anything strange at my local bestbuy/walmart/costco.

All iPhone in Target Portland removed, No have for two days & my initial thought was...Strange, why no have phone...???

Pre-order ads. The carriers don't know the specs, but they know the dates.

Right now, it's crickets.

Even if they were announced tomorrow, it’s basically confirmed that COVID constraints are resulting in an OCT-NOV launch. Why would stores take down displays a month ahead of time, and not use that opportunity to firesale their stock? Doesn’t make sense. I’m not totally convinced we’ll see phones tomorrow.

If this proves accurate, I really like what Apple is doing, by using the digital media events with the Apple Watch, Airtags, followed by the iPhone having its own real spotlight staggered away from some of these other products. All it does is give traction to the main core products, where the sub-accessories like the Apple Watch/AirPods have their event.

Ordered an 11 pro max online from tmobile yesterday. The website said it was in stock as of 9pm cst yesterday when I ordered with a ship date of 09/15 - 09/16. Is this supposedly across retail stores only (ex. Best Buy) and not carrier stores?

Cannot see how a new watch, an iPad and iOS 14 is going to take 2 hours to talk about...

Every media outlet is mentioning phones, there's going to be some pretty annoyed customers out there expecting phones if there are none. My money is on them announcing at least the 5.4" 12 model as there's also been a fair few leaks of the device/casing/cases etc like there always are just before a phone release.

But who knows, we shall have to wait and see...

Seems like the keynote today isn't about the iPhone (short of there being some sort of "one more thing" type of surprise).
