iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program ?
I believe the battery expansion ruined my iPhone 5's internals.
It all happened when the battery begun to have 3 hours of use until the only lasted 5 minutes.
It's a fault and Apple knows they had problems with battery made in 2012 for the iPhone 5. But my iPhone 5 no longer works anymore because it's damage due to the battery expanding and they didn't do anything because the warranty expired. But now they have this replacement program and I don't know if it's possible if they can replace the iPhone if it's a known problem with the iPhone 5.
It ruined my iPhone...

Can you take the phone to Apple and have them look at it under this replacement program to see what they can do about it?

Yes.
With my parents.
I hope they can since that's the battery's fault that caused my phone to become damaged like that.
No fall damage or anything.

They should for safety reasons. I had my launch 5 replaced for expanded battery that was 20 months old.

Sorry to hijack your post I have the same problem

I am traveling at the moment and my iphone expands like crazy

I know the warranty is linked to your country but I cant take my phone back to UK for this condition.

I don't believe Apple will exchange the phone for you in a different country than where you bought it. I could be wrong though. I suppose you could just go to the Apple store and ask, assuming there is one nearby.

If its not an international warranty then no, but it can't hurt to try

I went to the apple store and they treated me as a special case. They replaced the battery and the screen so I can bring my iphone safely back via the flight.

This happened to my 3GS. Launch day, and I had to live with it because reparing it made the wifi worse. Only got 10 mins of usage haha.

I am having the exact same issue (with a yellow 5C, what a coincidence) while studying abroad in Ecuador. I chatted with support just now and they directed me to the nearest authorized service provider. I would just go and see if they can help you out.

They actually don't replace it.
This was the problem I had and they said all I could do is upgrade/buy a new device.
