Well, sure. Whether they actually implement those strategies is another debate. But the entire idea of handing out My own data to the cloud storage provider without local backup irks me. Also, cloud storage provider can delete your data without further notice if they find something creepy or dangerous to your files and you may have no arguments against their decision. It happened for my friends numerous times and they lost their data because of that.I would write near zero risk. Cloud storage providers ( the ones I use ) duplicate data over regions. Even a complete loss of the east or west coast and my data is still safe.
Your data, your responsibility. Giving up local backup is like actively handing out your control to your data. The cloud should never be considered as file vault.It's not a great experience, but you can optimize storage space on your device in settings.

Agreed. While some say "your data is on a server somewhere", it's really on multiple servers in multiple farms.
Also, cloud storage is ultimately a company purchasing and maintaining a storage pool that can be used by many people. What if the company is out of business? Even for the likes of google or Microsoft. Bam. Data is gone, nowhere to be found.
