If only my retina iMac would run mavericks!

    I really like my retina iMac but i dislike yosemite:(


    Any one in the know got mavericks running on a Rimac yet?

    anyone tried?

    would be interesting to know if it can be done.

    This was posted in one of the apple discussion forums:"No. This question comes up every time new hardware is release, the version of OS X that originally shipped on the machine is the earliest version of OS X that can be installed. The reason being is the hardware is optimized for the version of OS X.     It is very unlikely to be drivers for the vid cards at 5k in Mavericks.

    yea i read that before, but like loading newer OS X on older machines i thought maybe someone had tried it.
