Before the Apple fans come to defend Apple, it's not a big deal.

I gotta say though, if the display was that big, that would've been awesome and would have piqued my interest even more.

Although this isn't the first time Apple reduced the bezels on their Apple Watch, they did this when they first introduced the Apple Watch, multiple times I think.

Yes. I am worried about how big they are, will make the useable screen real estate much smaller and make it look like a more dated design.
I’ve order an ultra, but am expecting a high chance I will return it if it doesn’t look great and then just get a steel series 7 on eBay (can’t see the point of the 8 over the 7 other than the ultra)

I'm going to wait until I get mine to pass judgement. However, I will say that the bezels on my S6 don't bother me at all & aren't even really noticeable after you've been using the watch for awhile. I'm not too concerned about it honestly.

I love small bezels too, but I kind of like that look. Almost looks like the screen is floating. Was never a fan of the rounded bezels. Still not 100% sure on the Ultra, but the S8 might be the most disappointing Apple Watch ever from someone who typically upgrades every year.

Oh, series 8 is absolutely the most disappointing watch ever. It's the same friggin watch as series 7 with new sensors that really only benefit women.

I have upgraded every year since the first watch. I wasn't going to upgrade, but since I always get a stainless steel watch and an online seller offered me $270 for my Series 7, it became worthwhile for me to upgrade to the Ultra. It's coming in October.

I am also wondering how much larger that screen on the Ultra is over the 7. It LOOKS a bit larger, but there is so much argument over how much more screen real estate will be gained.

I couldn’t agree more. The screen size isn’t much larger on the Ultra based on the pixels.

The temperature sensor also benefits men, e.g. for more accurate sleep tracking. Also the car crash detection is new and benefits everyone.

But yeah, other than this the 8 is very much a 7. As the Ultra absorbed the lion‘s share of Watch development efforts this year, this is not surprising.

Well if anything it will take 2 generations for apple to delete the bezels soooo is the ultra worth it right now, or will the bezels really make a difference?

so your last word in the title is "misleading" with both a question and an exclamation mark. Can you link a source to that pic? I cannot see it anywhere on Apple's website. You're also saying "it's not a big deal", so if it isn't a big deal, why is it "misleading"???

I wouldn't get too hung up on the word!! I used it as a double meaning for my thread. Hope no Apple fans take offence, because it's not a big deal.

Here you go: (it starts at 1:36) Introducing Apple Watch Ultra | Apple

I'd imagine once the Apple Watch Ultra features starts to trickle features down features into the regular Apple Watch, then Apple will start making the screen bigger to further differentiate it.

It almost seems like this was either a mistake or an early prototype pf the watch. They clearly show the black bezel on every other part of the video and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to not show it on just that one clip of the watch. I don't think it was in any way intentional.

Edit: I see that was already discussed as it being a mistake.
