Wow, Apple is going down hill. smh ......

    Bought new iMac with Applecare+.

Decided to check my warranty and it was not applied to my iMac

Called in with a case number and he told me their computers for the last month or so are having lots of problems automatically assigning applecare.

No idea when it will be fixed......

    Wow........

Now I need to keep following up on my own as they have no idea when fixed.....

They are only human. If you have your receipt you should be able to work it out. Take it as a good thing. Many people loose their receipts and then down the road... no proof, no support.

You ahead of the game. They may even send you and extra apple sticker

I had the same problem. It seems worrisome, but it's not something to lose sleep about. The delay is only a few days, so chill out.

Got my iMac (ordered from Apple Online Store) 2017 21.5" (maxed out CPU, RAM, SSD drive, etc)

Day 1: Received iMac shipment from UPS

Day 2: Was too lazy to open the Brand New iMac Box

Day 3: Opened it, and set it up. Everything set up ok.

Day 4: Decided to check and verify my AppleCare+ warranty, which I bought at the same time as the online Mac order. Nope, it says I only have a "1 year Limited Warranty". I called Apple the following morning.

Day 5: Apple calls me back as I had requested. The Service Rep said that she can verify I certainly did purchase the AppleCare+ plan, and that the "confirmation" should appear on the Mac Support page in a matter of a few days. She apologized but told me I had nothing to worry about. I am covered no matter what. She told me to expect an email regarding the details of my AppleCare" coverage soon.

Day 7: I get an email from Apple which tells me that my new iMac is now officially confirmed for AppleCare+ coverage. Right away I check on the Mac's "coverage and support" page, and voila….. it finally confirms that my iMac is indeed covered for the next 3 years.

You check online on any Apple product (iMac, iPhone, laptops, etc) if they are covered or not. It's registered and tracked online. It's no longer about holding a piece of paper that proves you have a warranty. There is no more of that. They don't send you any piece of paper (or packet) stating your coverage. They used to do it this way, but not any more.

Thanks. Yes, mine showed 2 days later.

It was the rep I think worried me. He was describing it as a MAJOR system issue they have been having for months.

He must have been a rookie I guess.

    Thanks again.

You can call them and tell them this. When I spoke to AppleCare reps over the phone, they asked me WHEN I received my iMac package. I told them. And they moved up the day to the day I actually got the machine. Not when they started building it.
