Aluminum anodizes nicely. You could dye your mini case deep purple at home.
The Apple log on top might not like the process, so best to try it on someone else's mini first.
Got an Intel NUC running Linux Mint. Much prefer it to MacOS and the Mac Mini! Much simpler, cleaner, easy to use, faster. Rhythmbox is even preferable to the bloated iTunes. Should have switched sooner.
What you are suggesting is to completely get out of the Apple ecosystem and use alternatives like Google services. Seems easier to me to build a hackintosh rather than doing that.[/QUOTE]
Yes I am suggesting that, it's "easier" to build a hackintosh initially sure, but ongoing maintenance of software updates between versions, no support and the likelyhood of apple dropping intel processors makes the hackintosh strategy a bad long term solution.
The biggest problem I have with mac os is that it's not really that easy to use when problems occur , my recent experience has put me off macos and preferring ios any day
Typing in arcane unix commands isn't what I call ease of use , remind me of my commodore 64 days , thought we might have moved on from that
While problems on your ios device just do a hard restart ; bingo !
