Yesterday, I was drinking some unsweetened black coffee. As I was taking a sip, I got an urge to cough and coughed while I was taking a sip. Some coffee spilled on the floor, got a little bit on the left side of my desk, and a little bit on my left bookshelf speaker. I immediately wiped it all away.

As far as I can tell, I got none on my MacBook Pro 14", but how can I be sure? I wasn't sitting in front of the MacBook when I coughed, I was standing at the edge of the left side of the desk (which is about 1 meter wide). I very carefully inspected the MacBook's keyboard, screen, and body and did not notice anything. I even wiped it all down just to be sure. If there were no stains/marks anywhere on the MacBook, is it safe to assume no coffee got onto it?

If some coffee or drops of coffee got onto the MacBook there would be marks, correct?

Probably, but not necessarily. A small drop could ket under a key without leaving a drying mark visible, although that is highly unlikely. Chances are highly unlikely if you see no spots any coffee that may have gotten on it.

I feel your worries.

Just recently I was having a sub with roast beef. I felt worried right after and wiped clean my Mac Studio right after I came home from work. My wife was crying.

Does it matter? What would you do differently if you could be sure it did?

If any liquid got into my keyboard I would just let it dry, and deal with any potential issues if they present themselves.

My wife was crying.

That poor woman! You should be ashamed of yourself, I hope you learned your lesson.
