As with all things Apple, few outside Apple have any idea, and those who do have all signed non-disclosure agreements.

However, as mentioned, it's not likely to be all that soon, but it's also not improbable that an upgrade will occur near the Snow Leopard OS release, either before to spur purchases in the lull before the release, or shortly thereafter so people will buy a new Mac instead of just the OS.
