I've thought about it... Depend on how well of a job Apple does in the iPhone 5. A spec bumped refresh of the iP4? No. I won't leave Sprint. I MAY even leave iOS- although even with my SGS2 that I got Sunday, I'm not sure I'll be able to stick with Android. Don't get me wrong, the SGS2 is great! It's fast and the bigger screen is awesome! Android is what is underwhelming.

Back on track tho, I'd hate to see Apple shun those that have been with AT&T since day 1 with the OG iPhone, and make them wait even LONGER for a new phone bc they allow another carrier to buy exclusivity. That'll piss me off if true.

I will buy a carrier-unlocked GSM/CDMA version from Apple ($649 + tax + shipping) and use it on any carrier I want. You couldn't PAY ME enough to use Sprint, the worst carrier in the world.

Nope. I'm under contract. Can't switch anywhere. However if the out of contract pricing was reasonable, which it won't be, I could.

I had sprint once. I missed one payment and two weeks later collections called me demanding $450.

Never again.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Maybe.

I doubt this will happen. However, if it does and that is what Apple thinks of its customers then it will be two fingers to them and it will be galaxy sII for me.

My theory: make the iPhone 5 exclusive to Sprint, while the 4S, 4, and 3GS are still on sale at At&t, and 4S and 4 on sale at Verizon. I think it'd be pretty dumb to make the iPhone 5 exclusive to any carrier, part of the success of Android has been the fact that it's on every freaking carrier. Apple would start to lose market share most likely.

I think having carrier exclusives really ends up hurting products in the end. It's one reason WebOS never got off the ground, it was stuck on Sprint for too long. The iPhone was exclusive to At&t until this year and I feel that also bit Apple in the end, because it gave Android a lot of leverage on the other carriers. So really, it'd be a colossally dumb thing for Apple to go back to carrier exclusives.

Considering I'm pretty set on cancelling my AT&T account I don't see why I wouldn't. T-Mobile won't have the iPhone so Verizon would be my only other option. If Sprint has an exclusive iPhone 5 I'd probably choose them over Verizon.

With them being the only one price = unlimited all, I was planning on jumping over to them anyway. If true, this would only encourage me more.

From my experience, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all have comparable signals where I live so availability and price are the biggest factors. If Sprint gets the iPhone, there will be no reason for me to look elsewhere.

I wish it was that easy, AT&T and Verizon has us all by the balls now so not willing to pay ETF !

If it's the 4G IPhone I may consider it.

If it's the 4s I might consider hopping to the sg2.

The nerd side of me needs a more dramatic change besides a faster iPhone 4.

If it's a 4" iPhone 5 and exclusive to sprint then I'd definitely plan on hopping to sprint

doesn't make sense to me

The article states that the iphone 5 is going to be a wimax phone, but if I have read what sprint is eading for properly, aren't the going to be headed toward LTE next year, making the Wimax system stale? Why would they spend billions on that system if they are headed for LTE?

Unsubstantiated rumours have a habit of making no sense when looked at closely. The truth will turn out to be subtly or profoundly different.

However, replace "Sprint" with "HP" and spending billions for no good, long term reason....

Nope. It would stop me from upgrading to the 4s though. If there is only a 4s I will upgrade, but if they introduce a 5 and tell me I can only get it on Sprint, I'll wait to see how it works out and see if it comes to my carrier.

I am in the same boat with many others. I would stay with my carrier, Verizon, and go with a feature phone with them. I just can't see why Apple would piss off the millions of customers on ATT and Verizon and risk losing them.
Anyway, this is not going to happen and I can't wait to get my hands on an IPhone 5, if it comes out today.

It looks like from the very beginning it's been 70/30% on the votes, but I wonder what the #'s look like after the unveiling.

As long as I can get out of my AT&T contract for under $150 or so, sell my current iPhone 4 for around $350 then yes.

I would much rather be on Sprint as their network quality is about the same here, and data speeds would be faster (assuming it has WiMax.) Also I have a much larger percentage discount on Sprint versus AT&T (25% on everything vs 15% on just the minute plan and texts, not data.)

Of course, this is assuming they charge $200 for the phone, and not over that...
