if you are a cartoon character, who are you and why?
Hey, you started this thread, how about you tell us which character you are too!
if you are a cartoon character, who are you and why?
Or his alter-ego, Brutus.
Yep, I'd be Garfield. Next to a tray of lasagna.
Ahh yes, Garfield. Probably my very favorite comic character of all time. I used to get the comic books from the mobile book store that came to the school every year. I would read them over and over until I wore them out.
Wylie Coyote. Always planning, but not always clearly thinking out what the end result will bring.
Super Genius.
He's mine too. Love that guy.
Years ago, - while the Garfield cartoon strip was still a feature of some newspapers, and very shortly after I had started teaching, my brother's Christmas present to me was a lovely, fat, fluffy Garfield.
I had you down as a Garfield kinda guy..
Love Wile E. Coyote though!
Surprised nobody mentioned Snoopy so far. Can't go wrong with him.
Used to read Garfield and Snoopy in the paper every week. My favorite comic, though, hands down, was Gary Larson's The Far Side. Guaranteed laugh everytime. I am Roger in FF!![]()
Oh yeah, The Far Side was great. I read that one weekly too for years.
Wish he would write more material. Such a unique perspective.
Wow! Those Karate lessons sure paid off!![]()
You bet, but now I can't itch my back![]()
Now the question remains, do you, pray tell, still have that lovely, fat, fluffy Garfield?![]()
Oh yeah, The Far Side was great. I read that one weekly too for years.
I will guiltily admit that I went looking for Garfield last night, after posting on the thread.
Now, Garfield - clad in a white t-shirt which proclaimed: "I am not fat; I am under-tall" - sat on the top of the back (the headrest) of the sofa in the living room for ages, but I have been abroad so much in recent years, I had not noticed that Garfield had been removed from his throne on top of the sofa until this thread was started.
We will comb the house seeking him out he deserves to be re-instated ..

Oh, yes, I really loved The Far Side, too. A very, very clever, witty, sharp, inventive, funny and highly original cartoon.
I even had some of the books, and used to send 'Far Side' Christmas cards
Garfield on his throne at the top of the couch. That seems apropos as that is a typical spot for any cat to perch themselves.
Yes. I thought so, too.
Great news on the Garfield front! A lovely, fat, fluffy (MIA) Garfield has been successfully located ...
Our wonderful Filipina carer, (my mom has dementia, so we have engaged a full time, live in carer for the past two years, ever since I was deployed to central Asia) successfully found him, having identified correctly where he might have been lurking, in a cupboard in my mom's room (and no, I do not know what happened to bring that about .).
Anyway, she has offered to scrub him (an offer gratefully accepted, though I doubt he will care for it) after which he will resume his place on top of the sofa in my study, which is, after all, a better place for him and from where he can survey the world with magisterial calm ..
Ah great news! I'll be sure to inform Puma that his distant cousin is still about and in control and reigning supreme over all! #
