In case of emergency or a place that won't take credit cards, and you can only carry one currency note (dollar, euro, etc.) in MagSafe Wallet along with a credit card & ID, what would it be? And why?

I'm thinking a $20 is too small and most stores won't break a $100 as it's too large, so a $50? But then in an emergency and we can only carry one note shouldn't we carry the largest denomination possible ($100) and not worry if a store couldn't give us all of our change back?

$20 as a lot of places don't take $50 or $100 bills due to counterfeiting.

I was always told it was because they don't keep enough money in the drawer at the beginning of the day to handle a making change for a bunch of $50's and $100's. Of course that was mostly an issue at gas stations when the transactions regularly ran under $20. It's so rare that I use cash now. I can't think of the lass time it was an issue.

Anyways it's funny retailers would take this stance on preventing counterfeit money. Counterfeit $20's are way more common in the US than $50's or $100's. No one checks $20's. There's also simple scanners to quickly detect counterfeits.

Counterfeit money also accounts for way less retail losses than credit fraud. Yet I can make huge credit card purchases without anyone checking anything. Zero security, I just need to sign a slip. Buy a six pack of beer and my ID is checked even though I'm obviously over 21. Buy a $1500 computer with a credit card, nothing.

I carry my license, a credit card, and a $20 bill in my MagSafe wallet. I find $20 to be sufficient as I'm much more likely nowadays to use the credit card or Apple Pay. But you can definitely fit at least another bill in the wallet with no problem.

If you use the wallet with a case, I placed a $20 inside the MagSafe silicone case (so it touches the phone). Should easily fit a second or third bill in there.

that's a good idea, and it doesn't lessen the magnetism from iPhone to silicone case with the bill in between?

I now use a bumper case so I can't use that idea, but I should have when I was using cases.

The case doesn’t actually attach with the magnet; it’s held by the sides. No noticeable difference when attaching MagSafe wallet or magnetic battery pack to the case.
