Steven Gerrard
Ricky Gervais
Karl Pilkington
Steve Jobs
Sir Anthony Hopkins/Sean Connery

Oh there all guys...hmm.

Jesus
Audrey Hepburn
Maternal grandfather (well, both grandfathers passed before I was even born)
Julie Andrews
Walt Disney

When I read the question in the original post, your first two were the same names that came to my mind! I was actually rocked back in my seat to see someone else appreciated Audrey as much as I do!

Here's my five both real and fictional people I would love to have dinner with.

Jesus
Bono
Optimus Prime
Yoda
Eva Mendes

I know it's crazy but I bet it would be an interesting meal. Except Optimus wouldn't be able to eat anything.

Bono! But he's Irish!:D

Gosh, I feel almost intelligent - I only had to look up one of Skunk's list and that was just to check I was on the right track :D

Difficulty with inviting lots of sparkling, incredibly witty and intelligent people is whether you'd feel inadequate trying to keep up with the conversation! ;)

I wouldn't invite Jesus unless I was short on food or wine though. Need to think about my 5 though - I might have to 'theme' it.

Can we assume a Universal Translator?

Because otherwise, it'd just be a lot of hand gestures. Lots of people mentioned Jesus, but few speak Aramaic.

Also, can we assume that everyone could order a la carte? Because, again, diet issues would be a problem.

Tsk, must you be such a party pooper? :p

My 5 closest friends would be what i would like or 5 people that genuinely liked me. That is all i want.

Bono! But he's Irish!:D

Hey. What's wrong the Irish? :p

Hmm, good thread. I'd have to go with ...

1) Steve Jobs or Jonathan Ives. Old Jonny boy is clearly the real genius behind the iPod. :p

2) The master of nature documentaries, David Attenborough. He has done so much that I'd love to just sit and talk about for hours and hours.

3) One of the Astronauts that landed on the moon. Why not?

4) Probably need some comedy at that table so ... Billy Connelly. Pure genius.

5) And finally, hmmm. Jonny Greenwood, just to ask him about his record collection and steal some ideas.

What a great question! I don't even know where to begin or how to possibly only list five...

The engineer/scientist in me would invite Nikola Tesla / David Bohm...
The musician in me would invite Richard Strauss...
The adventurer in me would invite Reinhold Messner...
The businessman in me would invite Richard Branson / Donald Trump...
The actor in me would invite Christopher Nolan...
The strategist in me would invite Sun Tzu...
My warped sense of humor would invite Conan O'Brien / Seth Green...
The creative thinker in me would invite Steve Jobs...
I'd definitely have to include my brother...

There's going to be many more that I will think of, maybe I'll add some more at another time... Culling the list down to only 5 though would be near impossible... ;)

With a long list like that, you still forgot Pamela Anderson?

- My girlfriend
- My 2 best friends
- Conan O'Brien
- Chris Martin (even if Coldplay are much too wimpy).

Bono
Optimus Prime
Yoda
Eva Mendes

That's hilarious. :p I also want to have dinner with ninjas. They don't even need to be of the turtle variety. ;)

Jesus
Daniel Cook (My GGG Grandfather)
Audrey Hepburn (Thanks for reminding me devilot)
Corey Taylor
George W. Bush

The last two entries are kind of spontaneous, actually. Saw Stone Sour live several weeks ago, and it was apparent that Corey doesn't like George too much. Might be entertaining to watch Jesus break up a fight

Okay - here goes - FORE!

Arnold Palmer
Gary Player
Jack Nicklaus
Tom Watson
Robin Williams

If you have ever seen Robin Williams' skit on golf, you will appreciate that choice :D

The Dalai Lama
David Lynch
Brian Eno
Whoopi Goldberg
Lily Tomlin

For dessert: George Clooney... ;)
