wow. I bet the person who started this thread is under 17 years old.

While I believe the price range is high, i think it is because of the high-end parts that are used. if you look at the cheap pc laptops, the chips aren't as fast, the graphics are slower.

if you want a cheaper mac, buy an older one! but i'll agree that the resale value makes it difficult to find one for $500, like the ones in stores, but that is driven by the market, not apple.

and the resale value helps YOU.
well actually im 24 and this is just to spark conversation and see what peoples thoughts are and what they would personally like to see on a macbook. this aint bashing the mbp just saying what would you like. and by the way who in the hell is talkin bout price. not me

my first reply in your thread was to another member whose #1 wish was lower prices, and then someone brought up the "apple tax" and i defended the cost of doing business.

i'm sure there are tons of threads concerning "the next macbook pro"

just like threads about "what case should i get" or "how do i clean my screen"

Lose the CD/DVD drive.

I dunno, maybe people need to use CD/DVD drives on the go every single day. I only ever use it to install the OS and an occasional application, and to rip an occasional music CD into iTunes, all of which could be handled by a slimline external drive.

Taking it out would reduce weight and/or leave room for a larger fixed battery.

I like that idea

1. built-in coffee maker
2. butterfly keyboard (a la ibm thinkpad circa 1998)
3. world peace
4. 5.25" floppy
5. PS2 ports (as in before usb came out, NOT playstation 2)
6. anti-theft device that instantly kills someone who tries to steal it (the appeals process is too drawn out)
7. higher price to keep the immature kids from buying it and giving mac users a bad name.

Hmm, one change?

I'd have to choose from:

1080p RGB LED
HDMI port
BD writer
Video in
Cleartype

If I could only have one...hmm, that's a tough one. Built-in, software-interactive Fleshlight would be nice, I suppose.

If i could make just ONE change to tbe MBP line i would have to say i wish they had some kind of color option like black or red or something like that. I mean they dont even have to mass produce it just have it as an upgrade option. So tell me what yall ONE change to the MBP line would be. Cosmetic or the guts

they would have to make it from plastic or such... paint and aluminum is not a good mixture for something you going to be moved and touched all the time.

If I'd had to make just 1 change to the MBP it would be the replacement of the optic bay for a SD card reader, DVDs are obsolute, BD are stupid and everything in today's world uses SD or microSD cards....

I think you are the one who needs growing up ;). There's nothing wrong with someones opinion on a change that should be made on the macbook line. Of course it's not going to happen but so what lol...
