I like it. Makes the watch look different to the millions of others out there. More designs would be cool.

I think a case for a watch is lame, but the silver on silver looks decent. If you are really physical in your personal or work life, I think a case is acceptable. But for normal day to day protection it's just tacky looking.

Millions out there that you'll never come into contact with... the watch is still pretty unique at this point. Not many people have them.

Meh, I do think it looks silly/unappealing, but I'm also a firm believer that people should be able to customize their watch how they want, and that includes cases. It's not going on MY wrist, so why should I care how the watch looks?

For me, my protective case will be AppleCare Plus.

I ordered the gold and black version last night.

Guys - they are on sale on Amazon. Use the code Awatch15 to get a discount on Spigen Apple Watch accessories.

Forget protection, this could be great for us space grey owners that want to try bands that wouldn't normally match (the Milanese loop, for example).

This. To each their own of course, but I still don't understand the concept of a watch case or bumper.

to protect from nicks, scratches, and potential hard impact that will dent, crack, or shatter a unrecessed screen

just like other apple products alot of people are planning to resell these in coming years, I'm sure the condition will have an impact on the resell value.

Ok I guess.

I mean we've already seen a handful of people on here crying about nicks, scratches, chips, gashes, and cracks on it from accidents and we're only a couple weeks in. They definitely could've benefited from this.

Yea, I see what you are saying. As someone that has owned a pebble, galaxy gear, Moto 360 and now this without any issue, it was difficult for me to comprehend.

I don't use a case on my phone either, which is in excellent shape, but I understand the point a bit more on those.

Most likely comes down to the fact that case have been a big deal on phones for years, but not for watches. At the same time, this is the first big smart watch rollout, however. Still never saw bumpers and cases as a big deal for any of those other watches, though. I get we are a bit apples to oranges depending on the cost of the models.
