Sounds like a dumb question but the Hermes watch only comes in Cellular, just wanted to know if you can buy that one and only use BT and GPS or will it force you to use a plan

Also if you have the Cellular can you turn it off to save battery life or when youre traveling?

Thanks in Advance

PS I know you can buy GPS and get Hermes bands seperately but this is a present so was just hoping to get it all in one package.

You can skip the cellular activation step when setting up your new watch, at least that’s true for Series 3. Unless they change it this year you should be able to use the cellular watch without cellular service.

No.
You have the option to enable it.
If you do, then you have to add it to your current phone plan and your phone number.

So you can't just accidentally enable it. There are a few steps in order to make it happen.

My Series 3 Stainless steel w/ cellular will typically last 2 and a half days on a single charge.
I am not using cellular (I wish I could but my phone plan is maxed out with 10 lines already and I can't even activate the option. Because the watch counts as an additionally device on your data plan.)

My wife also bought me the Hermes brown leather band after the fact. I believe it was overall less for the same product. But that is just me because I personally do not care for the Hermes watch faces.

And Hey, two different boxes to open as well as having a second band option that is free by purchasing separately.

Nope, I got the series 3 just for the ceramic back on the Cellular, I never activated it.

What if you preordered directly from a carrier like AT&T? The confirm email they sent already shows the new line “number” associated with the Series 4. I would have activated it anyway but curious how the setup process will be different as a result. Any Series 3 LTE owners have experience from last year on what happens when ordering direct from the carrier?
