Well, as I said. Personal preference and all that.

Sure, it's a matter of taste. I was just pointing out that the silver bezel goes back to the first Titanium Powerbook in 2001, while the black bezel was only introduced in 2008.

I must be one of very few people who actually like the glossy screen. For the price of upgrading the screen on my mbp, I was able to get a nice, large anti-glare monitor from a wholesaler.

Which somehow means that nobody can find the black bezel more attractive?

No, it means that in view of the fact that Apple's professional laptops have featured silver bezels for the past ten years, I find it puzzling that some people consider the silver bezel weird-looking.

i think it's the silver metal with black keys that makes it a little strange. don't get me wrong though, i got the hi res antiglare. there's a mockup with the silver bezel and silver keys somewhere and it looks frickin' beautiful

i can't for the life of me understand what people are complaining about when it comes to glossy displays. I'd read all the horror stories on this forum about them, but now that i actually own a glossy mbp -- which i use on a desk that has a window right behind me, it's perfect.

Honestly, i think back-lighting eliminates any problems with glossy. And the only "problems" that there is, is when the computer is off and you live in the nevada desert with the sun glaring directly onto the screen. Now that i've experienced a glossy display myself, i will never trade it for dull colors and an ugly silver bezel.

+1

I got the new 15" AG model and love it. However, I never noticed any dead pixels w/ the glossy whereas the two matte ones I've bought have both come with at least 1 dead/lazy pixel.

They're both good choices.

Take your pick...:apple:

Glossy looks tons better. Deeper blacks, better contrast, MINIMAL GLARE! Matte, on the other hand, blech! Everything looks...white and unbalanced!
If you want low-res matte or 13" matte, I recommend SGP's matte screen protector. Matte on the cheap, installed over a glossy screen.
Matte sucks. You can see the screen perfectly fine with gloss, with better color accuracy. Plus, a matte screen protector on a glossy screen does the same thing, saving you $$$.

I like both the black and the silver bezel but honestly I just want the silver bezel because it looks awesome and idk it just looks more classic macbook pro. As for people with glossy screens, I know its not the same but don't they make after market anti glare screen protectors?!!

That photo only shows the glare v no glare. The antiglare screen does not look like that in person. The photo does no justice, and a photo comparison like that isn't fair because the camera will be adjusting exposure to suit only one of the laptops.

The blacks are not washed out on the antiglare. They may not be as "deep" or as "over-saturated" like the glossy, but they certainly aren't washed out, and I prefer the colours on a matte display to glossy, as they look more natural than saturated.

And antiglare "protectors" are horrific. They are no where near the matte finish of the screen. While they stop reflections and glare, they end up making everything look horrible.
