I want to start utilizing my iPhone on a greater level than I have been. Sure, I use it all the time for basic things like: phone calls, texting, internet browsing, tracking my bicycle rides, checking the weather, listing to music, creating reminders and to-do lists, and checking my bank account, but I still feel like I'm missing out.

I know there are some amazing apps out there. (There's an app for everything, right?) But, to be honest, I don't entirely love browsing the app store with the current way it categorizes and sorts apps. There's just too much junk and confusing ratings for me.

So, if you use your iPhone for everything from brushing your teeth to changing the oil in your car, what are some of your most recommend apps for day-to-day life?

I use my iPhone now pretty much as a substitute for MOST of the things I previously did with my laptop.

Park'n Find (Find your car at the mall)
SoundHound (What's that song on the radio again? Oh wait, I'll hum it)

Thanks for the lists so far. I'm going to search each app I haven't heard of and see what it's all about. The Gas Cubby one I didn't know about and love already.

Also, does anyone know of a way or place to find alternatives to a certain app. For example, is there an easy way to find another app like Gas Cubby? Or do I just need to find it manually?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2 like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C134 Safari/6533.18.5)

I use the directv app a lot to record shows when I'm not home.

Jumi mouse+ is a really good remote access app to use your computer over 3G and wifi. You can even stream music from your computer to your phone.

Obvious ones like netflix, shazam, yelp and pandora.

Wolphram algebra is helpful sometimes.

I use art studio to edit some PNGs for themes. It's nice not having to use Photoshop for everything.

Ringtone maker pro, extremely easy to make ringtones from any song on your phone.

Atomic web browser. WAY better than safari.

There are a lot of useful apps in the app store, but I agree that it's a complete mess and so difficult to find all of the good ones.

Tapatalk Forum App for MR.

Air Video for lounging around at night.

Combined together? The absolute best $6 I've ever spent.

All esstential atm:

- Netflix
- Skype
- Pulse News
- Navigon
- Kindle
- Fullscreen for Safari

I for a year and a half didn't have a computer of my own, and needed access to the net, mail, and music. iPhone was the answer.

Some of the app must have apps for myself at the time wouldn't have been must have for people with desktop computers and decent internet connection, so I'll just list the best that would do or what I would've done best what I needed them to do at that time.

Groups
Fluent News
Instapaper
TIME mobile
Twitter
Facebook
Sportacular
Due
Todo (by Appigo)
mBox Mail
MomoNote
Outliner
SmartCalendar
1Password Pro
Bluefire Reader
Stanza
Beejive IM
Downloads

Some games I love, but those apps did or would've been the best had they been out at the time for the things I needed apps to do.
