I really love my iPad 12.9. I use it for everything all the time. I'm strongly considering getting a second, maybe 9.7 pro or mini.

If you use 2 or more iPads, what do you use them for? Which sizes do you have? Do you them both consistently?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments.

I have the 9.7 and 7.9. My 7.9 is my web searching and browsing. My 9.7 is for more entertainment needs.

I tend to favor my 9.7 more often than my
7.9, mainly because of the extra screen space.

I own a 9.7 iPad Air 1 and 9.7 iPad Air 2! The first one was a gift to me and I use it to test jailbreak tweaks right now.

Own a 12.9 and a 9.7.

12.9 I use partially as a laptop replacement, use it for lectures and notes.

Also use 9.7 but more for traveling has LTE so it is more useful when not at home or in classroom. Use it when sitting on couch while watching tv.

It is possible that had the 12.9 and 9.7 both came out at the same time I would have just got the 9.7.

But I had been using an original surface for a few years waiting for apple to make something with a stylus, so I jumped at the first model. Couldn't have been happier, but was still using my iPad Air daily too that once there was a 9.7 pro I upgraded and passed my air to my wife.

I have an iPad Pro, the minimal 32GB wifi version, that I use as a media tab and web surfing device. It never leaves the house. I have an iPad Air that I take when traveling, which I do a fair amount of. When traveling it is mostly used for entertainment and surfing on airplanes or in hotels in the evening, though I do minor work email on it. If it is a pleasure trip, I back up y photos to it each night using an SD card adapter, so I have a second copy of my photos (tif it is an exotic overseas trip, I back them up yet again to my phone, now that the adapter works on the iphone). I have an iPad Mini that I should not have bought, but I thought I'd like it better for traveling. It ends up that I don't like it as well as the Air--the smaller size isn't that big an advantage. I have kept it and occasionally take it traveling or use it to web surf or watch video laying in bed before sleep.

We have an iPad 4 that stays at home and serves as the general lookup/Facetime/music control/kids video device. I have a 9.7 Pro that stays with me in my bag everywhere I go.

I have an ipad Air 1 and a Mini 4. The mini 4 is my workhorse. As a man, I can take the Mini 4 with me without a bag and I personally love that size.
The Air is used at home, but mosstly the mini is used everywhere.

If I had two, I would probably pick the mini to take with me, and the 12.9" got home use.
I used to have the 9.7" iPads until the iPad 4. The moment Apple released the retina mini, I sold my iPad 4 and never have any 9.7" iPads ever since.

I own the original ipad, ipad 3, and ipad mini 2, obviously im using the ipad mini 2 . I use it to pretty much like i would use my iphone 7+... but things i like doing the most would be surfing the web ,look at my pictures via icloud photos and watch videos, youtube , Netflix.

12.9 and 7.9 here: I use my 7.9 mainly for reading e-books as I find it a perfect size for that.

I don't see the need for a 9.7 as it's a bit of an "awkward" size: Too big to carry everywhere and comfortably read e-books on and too small in comparison to my 12.9 without adding anything in regard to portability

I just got a new iPad Pro 12" myself! Congrats have fun!

My second iPad is now my home automation remote basically. Ill be using it exclusively for home kit around the house of roy lights, thermostats' etc, also will be a great super duper apple tv remote!

old ipad 3 for background stuff (stream music, airplay videos / movies / shows to view on TV) and outside stuff (e.g. workouts where i need a timer).

ipad 12.9 -- everything else

Thanks everyone. You've definitely given me some ideas. I'm leaning toward the 9.7 for night reading and as a second screen when working.

I have the 12.9" and 9.7" pro. i use them both every day for a few hours.

I have the smart keyboard for the 9.7", and it's my main computer for emails, browsing, etc. I ride a bus to work and use it there. I use the 12.9" as a TV, and as a second screen when doing work. I also use it when drawing on iOS.

Although i use them both, and like them both, i don't see myself upgrading either for a few years.

I currently own all three. I have always had an 9.7" device - currently the latest Pro 32Gb - which is perhaps my main device. This doesn't leave the house but is my go to device for most tasks. I picked up the original mini, more out of curiosity but loved the added portability it brought. I now have the mini 4, which is a fantastic device, it sits in my work's laptop bag and is used at the office but is also taken with me on trips and is my go to device when travelling. It is also a great gaming machine due to its light weight which makes it easy to handle.
I recently picked up a 12.9" Pro, again out of curiosity. It is noticeably heavier than the 9.7" and I don't use it as often as the other devices but I love it purely for a media consumption device and this is one of the reasons I have kept it. The other likely reason will be for photo editing - the release of Affinity Photo will most likely make the 12.9" Pro a legitimate editing machine as a standalone device as well as being a conduit to editing on the Mac - that big screen and Pencil combination just works best on the 12.9".
If I could only stick with a single device, it would be the 9.7" Pro as it is just a great size for a tablet but the bigger and smaller sizes definitely have the their merits and niches.

I have an iPad Air 2 and an iPad mini 4. I take my iPad mini 4 out with me almost everywhere I go. My iPad Air 2 stays at home. When I get home, my iPad mini 4 goes straight on the charger so it's topped up when I leave again and I pick up my iPad Air 2.

12.9 pro (movies and bragging rights), 9.7 pro(web surfing, video, chatting forums, camera), tab s2 (miscellaneous downloads, chatting, Tumblr)

Lol, I have two 9.7" iPads that I use regularly: iPad Air 16GB LTE (no SIM) and iPad Pro 9.7 256GB LTE (VZW)

For obvious reasons, I prefer to use the Pro 9.7 but when it's charging, I switch to the Air. Also quite useful for multitasking. Using Safari side-by-side on a 9.7" display just isn't as nice as being able to use an extra iPad altogether in whatever orientation (portrait or landscape) I need it.
