If you’re disappointed by the iPhone 4S, you’re nuts

I think most of the people here use iPhone 4 already are upset because it's doesn't seem like such a big difference from their phone already. I love it and want to get it, but I'm also coming from DroidX single core...crappy cam/vid.

This phone was so cheap to make. They already had the design from iPhone 4 and a chip from iPad. They did nothing new. A company that has so much money does this????!!!!!! This is such a DISASTER and a DISAPPOINTMENT. I hope that people are smart enough to understand this.

I mean at least do some upgrade on the screen for Christs sake, Super Retina+, or better colors, but to ship the exact same iPhone4 with just the standard dual core upgrades is shocking to say the least.

Anyone, that buys into that thinking doesn't appreciate iOS and these very nice hardware upgrades.

You think they just slap a new chip is a cake walk? There is a buttload more involved than that to get into the form factor of a phone, include a double memory bump, a nice bump in the camera, and supposedly better batter life.

I can't get over the expectations of some people.

The 4 has been out a little over a year and you were expecting a total redesign?
Apple is right on their course and it makes perfect sense to me that we have a 4S.

Apple, doesn't need to do the hardware somersaults that the Droids need to do to compete with each other. No other phone runs the iOS. Apple doesn't need to rush.

We had the following releases.

3G - Evolutionary upgrade from the iPhone 1.
3GS - nice hardware bump that included a new release of the iOS
4 - Evolutionary redesign
4S - VERY nice hardware bump that includes a new release of iOS

iPhone 5 will be right on schedule next June / October.

I will be setting my alarm for 3AM EST Friday to get up make my preorder to replace my 4. I am not a fanboy, and was considering a Droid recently, but I just don't like the interface after messing with my buddies bionic. I like having my phone integrate seemlessly with everything I have and now I get iCloud for free on top of that?

Anyone who was thinking this would be a earth shattering redesign needs to seek therapy right after they take a Marketing 101 class.

This will be a huge seller. I will wager good money on that.

How are people acting like babies? Most of us were hoping that apple would stay relevant and competitive with android and include new technologies like 4G LTE, which is available here in Beautiful California , also a bigger screen and a new design would have been nice!

The Galaxy Nexus Prime is gonna have a field day with the iphone 4S!

Guess I'm nuts as well. I love the form factor of the current phone but apple at the very least could've bumped up the screen size without increasing the size of the phone. Even a simple notification light on the front of the phone would've impressed me.. but nothing. Apple was really trying to upsell Siri which I find pointless in everyday use.

Surely you're capable of understanding that it's actually impossible to differentiate between a rude and a well-written post prior to actually reading it before hand, no? Deliberately posting hostile comment with the intent of invoking annoyance and exasperation pretty much evinces immaturity and insolence. The iPhone 4s is iPhone 5, except there was no redesign of the housing. Internally, there are changes: antenna revamped, a5 chip, more RAM, Siri hardware portion, better camera system. Apple could have called it iPhone 5, but they called it 4s, simply no there was no housing changes (new look, new display). iPhone 4s is 7 times faster graphics, 2 times faster processor, 1080 p recording, Siri, etc.

Bet there is no real redesign! Bigger screen is not a huge change. G s2 is horrible compared to the iPhone 4s. 4s is the twice the graphic speed and just as fast. Better camera on 4s too. Better os on 4s.

iOS 5 has the flash notification from the camera for notification.

The article claims better battery life. I want to see proof of that. From what I've seen the battery is the same, tweaked so that 3G talk time is 1 hour better, but WiFi time is one hour worse.

Also, it mentions things that are the same. Yes, I know that a faster processor gives faster web page loading.

Siri is cool, but that's software and therefore besides. This was about people expecting new phone hardware.

No complains about iOS 5 though.
