Odd. I use MPlayerX on occasion, and there's no sign of any of this malware on my Mac.
Perhaps the installer makes a random choice as to whether to install bad stuff, or not?

Crap. That's my favorite video player too. Time to start looking for a replacement. I was using it before they started using the installer and always updated in app. Never had a problem but don't trust that developer anymore.

You can actually opt out of the adware. Perhaps that is what you did.

VLC or mpv are decent alternatives.

I've never been a huge fan of VLC for some reason. I'll try mpv. Thanks.
