Conversely, typing one handed is much easier with the Pro size, and pretty much impossible with the Pro Max.

Typing two handed, I may be marginally faster and more accurate on the Pro Max, but for me it is definitely not worth the ergonomic tradeoff.

Good thing about the 17 Pro this year is its significant battery gains from previous models (basically on par or slightly better than the 16 Pro Max), so you dont sacrifice much battery life moving down to the Pro model.

Update on this. As much as I love the size and comfort of the Pro, I just have to accept it’s not for me. Using my phone for work + being more of a texter than calls/facetime, the bigger screen is just so much better for those things

I wound up picking up the Pro Max Friday. Happened to be with my sister and she was mentioning needing to replace her 15 because her camera lenses all got shattered. I told her I’d been on the fence about moving to a PM, and she offered to buy my pro. Seemed like a sign. Lol

And?

And I instantly enjoyed the larger screen/display. I haven’t put a Loopy case on it and am going to try to stay with the slim case I picked up to see if I can survive without a Loopy case. I love them and have used them for years, and while they definitely make it easier to use the phones, they add some bulk. I’m gonna see how long I can make it without one. Lol

Honestly I just never even considered staying with the max since it had gotten even larger than my 15PM, but having the lighter metals it doesn’t really feel heavier, and I like that there is a little more width and it doesn’t look as long and skinny. I know that would make having a Loopy case even more practical, but again having it without the extra bulk is making it seem like less of a difference in size.

Caseless is definitely the way to go, especially on the Pro Max. Nobody needs extra bulk, although I'm not a fan of cases on anything 😀 It just messes up the original design for nothing, rather just learn to be careful - repair/brand new iPhone prices will keep you motivated on that.

I planned to get 17 Pro, but the more you use the bigger version the less you want to go back to anything smaller, it's just way more comfortable to type/look at/immerse in. And I used to love iPhone 8 not that long ago (still will probably use it on cycling trips because of size/ease, that thing tasted concrete without any case and is still in perfect shape)... In everyday situations size/weight of the Pro Max doesn't matter that much if you're not a twig. Great reason to get in shape 🙂
