Some people will never learn.
So the combination is... one, two, three, four, five? That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! The kind of thing an idiot would have on his luggage!
Just a thought about the title of this thread.... HackMe would apparently be a better password than the most used one... ironic, eh?
Wait...I hadn't heard of this password theft. Does this mean that every Facebook account has been compromised?
The sad part is how many of those passwords do not surprise me.
There are easy tricks to make some pretty secure passwords and remember them. Take a phase or even words/ numbers that have meaning to you and intermix them. To any one but you it looks pretty much random.
Hell on password hints on some sites my hints the hint is completely worthless for figuring out the password. The hint tells me which one I used or where I got the idea for it.
For example a hint could be "blackhole" and all it has to do with a blackhole is could tell you that the password you created could of been based off the book singularity. Now that might be enough to remind you what you used to created it and then remember what it was.
As I understand it the passwords stolen were for the Rock You accounts nothing else. The article mentions FB and MySpace in explaining the type of business that Rock You does.
They're waaay off. Everyone knows the most commonly used passwords are love, secret, sex, and god.
In other news, people are stupid.
That is why my password is 123456 in French!
Ha! ... oh wait.
News next week:
An increased number of accounts are hijacked around the world -- lots of newbs called "doh!" at once.
looks like I'm safe - 54321
...why is this news....
Good. 8675309 wasn't on the list.
what about if someone's social security number is 123456789?
Well played sir, well played indeed.
Curse you!! Now I have that song stuck in my head!
I have password hacked a couple of fb accounts. A little tip for everyone. Dont use your AIM sn or email address without the @whatever.com part. ALso dont use anything thats on your profile at all. This is how i have gotten the info to password hack
My password is actually an easy number to guess. How it's written is another matter.
oh man... maybe people will pick an harder password.. I lol'd at the fact qwerty is on there...
also, +1 for hashed and hexed passwords... never had a hacked account since
That looks reasonably safe actually, because on a non-French keyboard that would look like !@#$%^.
i must admit my first password was "abc123" hahaha and used to frequently change the numbers lie "abc122" and stuff
Would that happen to be from the movie Hackers by chance?
That's incredible! That's the same password as I have on my luggage!
At school a while back a popular PW for logging on to your computer was:
so quick to do
