Hello,
I'm doing a bit of research on third-party batteries for the Retina MacBooks and I'm particularly interested in iFixit.

To any owner of an iFixit replacement battery for a Retina MacBook Pro:
Who is the manufacturer of your battery (the one indicated by tools such as Coconut Battery)?
How is your iFixit battery behaving some time after the replacement?

I know it can vary, but I'm still interested.
Thanks

What are the usual macbook OEM for batteries ? Mine says Dynapack
Mine says Simplo (on a 2014 battery)

ifixit is the manufacture of the batteries.
Thanks! I asked because on other threads I've seen many people claiming that the manufacturer was the same as some $30 Amazon batteries and not iFixit..

Which MacBook are you using? How is the iFixit battery holding up? I'm very interested

When you buy in bulk from the manufacturer you can have any name written, so it's not a guarantee that the ifixit is different from the 30$ battery

It makes sense, but why some batteries show "IFIXIT" as the manufacturer if they still obviously buy from the same chinese third-party manufacturer like every other reseller?

I guess we should ask the developer of Coconut who in the supply chain has control over this label.

My guess is that it really works like that:

iFixit: Hi Shenzhen supplier, I buy you 5000 batteries for 25$ each, can you make sure it says "IFIXIT" when my customers use Coconut?
Shenzhen manufacturer: OK no problem

Quality of ifixit batteries may be great, depending which manufacturer they use, same as Apple or not..

I’ve replaced mine on 2018-08-05. I’ve ordered it from the iFixit EU store. Coconut Battery shows Dynapack as manufacturer. Interestingly, the manufacture date is 2013-02-16. I'm happy with the replacement, no issues at all.

Below you can see the cycles/capacity history.

Thanks, this looks very good and promising

You're probably right, it makes sense.
They probably buy both "custom" and normal batches (and apparently they get some OEM batteries as well).

Dear

Maybe I am quite late to this, But I bought an IFixit battery last week, and for there first week, coconut said that the manufacturer was IFIXIT and the capacity was 105%. But now, coconut says that the manufacturer is Simply (SMP), and the capacity is 108%. I really do not understand why has changed, because is the same battery module. Does anyone know why this happened?

Do you mean Simplo?

You can also see the battery manufacturer in About This Mac>System Report>Power. I have seen DynaPack, DP (Dynapack?), Simplo and one other that I can't remember right now. All in 13 inch MacBook Pro's from 2009 thru 2012. I have two 2012 MacBook Pro 13's, one has a Simplo and the other has a DP with 1800 + cycles.
