I think it just means the RAM is integrated within the same package as part of the SoC (system on chip), as opposed to having separate memory chips.
RAM in the chips itself!? I have never heard this before. Interesting.
 
I remember a certain YouTube channel with the initials “LTT” speculating a long time ago that the internals of newer MacBook Pro’s seemed to be designed for a possible Apple chip as the cooling seemed insufficient for the Intel chips installed.

That does appear to have some merit given how few changes Apple have had to make to integrate the M1.

What I suspect happened was that Apple designed the MBP enclosure around a promised Intel chip design that ultimately did not manifest. That was likely the last straw that drove Apple to design their own processors because they saw the writing on the wall and realised that intel was unable to innovate any further in the direction they wanted.

That’s the only way the timeline makes sense to me, but it would also explain why Apple has stubbornly stuck with the same slim form factor all these years. They were simply buying time for their own M1 chips to be ready.

excuse my ignorance, the image says its "DRAM" is this the same RAM we buy from crucial and upgrade our systems with or this is another form of RAM? You know when they say this computer comes with 8GB RAM, is this it?

Yes, it's the same thing, technologically speaking. What you buy from Crucial are discrete components, what the M1 has is integrated into the chip along with the processing units.
 
The T2 in the M1..., more secure.. that should keep those hackers out.
Yeah, but Apple can spy on you too.. the T2 has a very very large contraversy now where it exposes your information to Apple. So, Apple knows where you live, what sites you goto.. CAN'T TORRENT anymore on these macs since BIG BROTHER WILL BE WATCHING YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
