The pro max is amazing! Loving this phone 😤
I don’t that’s how it works. It’s slightly bigger, because Apple thinks that’s what people want. Then that change allows for camera improvements and battery adjustments.I think I read somewhere that they are slightly bigger to handle the camera changes (mainly the telephoto I think).
I know in the past they've done teardown in New Zealand or Australia on release day to use the timezone differences to be first out with a teardown, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case here as we are now a week after release and mmWave is only available in the US models, so this has to be a US spec phone.Hmmm, where is ifixit getting their phones? They could be doing the videos outside the US.
Love seeing the technical artistry inside these devices when opened, however I do not care about repairability at all, and this does not sway my decisions. I have never ever had to have a single iPhone repaired in my life for any hardware faults and not a single battery issue and not a single cracked screen - I do always have AppleCare as a backup plan just in case but never had to use it once. I don’t keep these for longer than two years as I usually trade it in / trade up to a new model with my provider. Repairability for myself is not relevant as I do not and will not keep these devices for many years.
Yeah it would have been good if they published the Apple model number AXXXX ?Hmmm, where is ifixit getting their phones? They could be doing the videos outside the US.
people want wireless charging, so it has to be glass.Thats crazy. just crazy. look how hard it was just to get the battery out.
and if you screw up and slip you damage the phone.
Just nuts. totally nuts.
Its not made easier to work on these phones
It's made harder with greater risk of you damaging your own phone.
BAD ENOUGH they use a glass back instead of a metal back. Drop your phone just 6 feet and the glass BACK shatters.
i am waiting for 6G, 5G is not fast enough for me, i want to watch 8K youtube videos on my phone.Shoving in a X71 and not X75 modem has got to be the biggest disappointment. My OnePlus 12 with it's X75 modem literally destroys my 15 Pro Max. 15 Pro Max always gets 3-6 dB lower signal compared to OnePlus 12.
Seems like Apple shafted their customers by charging top dollar and including things that "just cut it" No bleeding edge anymore. It should have had X80 to jump the competition.
X80 based Androids should be here in few months anyway.
Space is premium in mobile devices.Kudos for such a big change, finally you can pull battery from the back. Hoping they build on this hardware advancement in the future models as well. Wasn’t a fan of adhesives but not really sure low voltage heating is any better. If would have been nice if it had Lego brick-like holders inside
If you research what happened there wasn’t third party parts involved. Built in a licensed factory from modified factory parts. The danger to average person is nonexistent. After what happened in Lebanon last week I think right to repair needs two be revisited and modified slightly. I certainly would not allow third party parts of unknown origin and unknown supply chain provenance to be used to repair my iPhone.

I thought I read that the 16PM was using the same previous Sony IMX of the 15 PM?iPhone 16 Pro/Max are full with surprises...
1. Custom modem (X71)
2. Using M14 OLED materials in their displays vs M12 in regular 16 (14 Pro/15 Pro)
3. Custom IMX903 camera sensor
4. Stacked battery tech in both 16 Pro/Max, but Pro gets it in new fancy case
It's clear that both 16 Pro/Max are using IMX903. It's already confirmed by various analysis. That's why the sensor is 2x faster. It's not the old IMX803 from 14 Pro/15 Pro.I thought I read that the 16PM was using the same previous Sony IMX of the 15 PM?

Hey - could you link to those confirmations? I cannot find these anywhere, it's the opposite - seems the 16 Pro/Max are using the same sensor as older models...It's clear that both 16 Pro/Max are using IMX903. Like I said, even numbers are big changes internally. 16 series are perfect example. Familiar from the outside, big changes inside.
How is disappointment? The speeds are vastly improved. Does it matter if it's called X75 or X71? It's still custom made modem and improved over the X70. Temperatures if you look everywhere are super improved. I saw no place where it said they are worse or the same. The modem is another disappointment, same as battery temps on 16 pro max
lol what does this even mean?Yet another artificial intelligence clone reply that’s copied and pasted from YouTube, Reddit and all other forums….
