Has anyone heard of a company called ifixit.com? I'm not trying to advertise them, I just want to see if they're legit so I can buy some parts from them.

I haven't used them, but they are very well-known for their excellent step-by-step guides to help people repair their Macs. From what I know, people have done just fine buying parts from them as well.

They're well regarded as far as I know. Prices can be beat from 3rd parties and you can just use their repair guides, but its still a good option.

    They're legit.

I sold them my iBook. :) They made it easy and they're fast. And yes, the $550 check went through without a problem.

I bought some Powerbook parts from them before, there weren't any problems. Parts came as described, worked fine, and were a decent price considering they were new and came with a warranty!

I've sold a few components to them over the years. They're great for the instruction manuals though. I've used them quite often to repair our department laptops.

Legit. I've bought a few things from them and never had any trouble. They seem to have really staked out their teritory with the iFixIt guides.
