Just an update, I've had this exact case for more than a month and never seen any signs of peeling or cracking, nor fading. I'm hoping that this case will really last till next year's release of the new iPhone. But so far this case is really awesome.

Unfortunately, my Luxe isn't fairing as well.

I've had the replacement case iFrogz sent me for 5 weeks or so, and I must say I'm not happy anymore.

A few weeks ago, one of the black tabs that inserts into the blue top part broke off. Now, the case doesn't sit flush on my iPhone- you can really notice this where the two parts meet on the front of the iPhone where the bezel is (hope that makes sense).

Also, the blue color is starting to discolor/fade in certain areas- probably the places I touch it the most. There is no cracking this time though. I would say that the discoloration that is going on is from normal use (which is too bad).

On the plus side, this case has done an exceptional job protecting my iPhone. There aren't any scratches on it anywhere- it looks as good as new.

I ordered a black Seidio Innocase II Surface with Spring Clip Holster Combo from Amazon, and it should arrive today or tomorrow. I've read great reviews about it, so hopefully it lives up to the hype. I've tried it on my iPhone at a store a few weeks ago (Amazon had a way better price plus it comes with the clip holster), and it looked and fit well. I really like the covered logo window, and I decided that I wanted an all-black case. I chose the Innocase because it has the same felt lining on the inside as the Luxe.

Good choice going with the Innocase, especially in black. It's a much better case than the Luxe in every way.

"...in every way"? That might be pushing it a little bit.

Well, I'll be able to judge it for myself once I receive it- hopefully today!

I think you'll agree but I'm not exaggerating at all. It looks better, it's thinner, the cutouts are better, it's easier to remove and it's more durable. I can't think of one advantage the Luxe has over the Innocase and I've had both. The stupid button on the back of the Luxe is reason enough not to own one. It does nothing but get in the way. Horrible design - I don't know what made me buy one.

Well, I'll be sure to provide my opinion once I get it. :)

Do you have the Spring Clip Holster as well?

For the record, it is extremely easy to remove my iPhone from my Luxe case. It slides right out without trouble. I don't mind the "button" design (in terms of looks), and it's never gotten in my way..... I'm not sure what you mean by that.

And I'm really hoping that your point about the durability of the Innocase is right on.

Why is it that it takes Amazon so long to send something that I actually want? When I order something like textbooks from them, I get them in 2 days! :D Oh, and both were free shipping.

I don't have the holster - I personally don't like holsters so I just keep my phone in pocket.

I'm surprised your Luxe is easy to remove - mine was extremely difficult to take off. As far as the button, what I meant by getting in the way is that it's kind of annoying and doesn't really provide any positive benefits. You can't lay the phone flat on a table and do any typing because the phone tilts from side to side. It also seemed to get in my way when I was gripping my phone and made it kind of uncomfortable to hold the phone - my fingers always seemed to "land" on that button. Maybe I would have gotten used to it if I had kept the case for a few weeks but I wasn't about to wait to find out.

I have found the Innocase to be very durable. I still have my original Innocase and it looks practically brand new (used it for almost a year). The only reason I upgraded is because I wanted the logo protection - now the case is just about perfect.

I only plan on using the holster when I'm at the gym. Otherwise, I keep my iPhone in my pocket. I got the case and the holster for $32 on Amazon- I figured the holster is worth a try at that price.

Yeah, the Luxe easily slides off of my iPhone- no force necessary. Weird.... maybe you got a defective case?

Good to hear about the Innocase. I waited to buy it because I didn't like the open logo window. Now that it's covered, it does seem like the perfect case.

I think I may have gotten two defective Luxe cases because neither one of them closed completely. You would think that they would be easy to remove since I wasn't able to completely close them, but that wasn't the case.

I had a similar problem with the Innocase at first. I originally ordered the grey one with the logo protection and it was impossible to remove. I got two replacements and those were impossible to remove as well. After 3 defective grey ones I decided to just get black again - sure enough, the black one is easy to remove. The grey cases must be cut too small or something - the black is just right.

I finally received my black Seidio Innocase II. I can now see what you are talking about- it really is a fantastic case.

Also, the Holster is really great- it keeps the iPhone secure and holds it face-in to protect the screen. The screen doesn't touch the holster at all- there is a space between the screen and the felt-covered holster. Awesome.

Anyway, psywzrd (or anyone who has a Seidio Innocase), I wanted to ask your opinion on one aspect of my case. It doesn't seem to close all the way- there is around a 1 mm gap between the two pieces. The clip doesn't seem to fit all the way into its tab- it is pretty easy for me to remove the bottom piece because of this. Also, I can push the little piece of plastic down that is holding the bottom piece's clip to the top piece (hopefully that makes sense). I can see some of the silver lettering from the back of the iPhone through the crack if I look through it at just the right angle.

Are/Were any of your cases like this? If so, did the case stretch slightly and ended up fitting properly after a few days? Should the clip just easily insert into the tab for in?

I'm trying to decide if I should return this case and ask for a replacement.

It probably looks a little worse in the photo than in person, but nonetheless, here it is:

This is what mine looks like and it looks like a perfect fit in person.

S-

Thank you for posting that photo. I guess I got a defective case.

*sigh*

Well, it looks like I'll be exchanging my case for a new one. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to receive it.

Just thought I'd update this nice turn of events.....

I filled out the Amazon Return Center stuff and printed out my shipping labels. I decided to call Amazon to find out if they need to receive the defective case before they ship out the replacement to me.

It turns out that they don't need to receive the defective case first and that you have 30 days to return it, otherwise you will be charged for two orders.

Anyway, when the customer rep was looking into things for me, he asked me if I'd like him to process the return instead of waiting for the Returns Department to get to it. I said sure, and so he processed it, and he decided to give me next day shipping. So, I should be receiving my replacement tomorrow.

Hurray for good customer service!

That's good news. I have a spare Luxe case too in case if something tragic happens to my current one, got it for free :p

There really is no perfect case after all..

I would say that my Black Innocase has an extremely slight gap in the back as well. It doesn't bother me at all though because it certainly doesn't cause the case to come off when I don't want it to.

Surely: Your case looks grey to me in the picture though. Are you sure they didn't send you grey instead of black?

It's just the way the color came out in the photo. In person, it's quite obviously black.

FedEx just arrived around 20 minutes ago with my replacement. I put the new case on my iPhone, and it fits a little better. There is still a slight gap there (if I look through the gap at the right angle, I can see still see a couple of dots of the chrome that is on the back of the iPhone), but it's smaller than it was with the first case. I think I can live with this one.

Definitely a much classier case than the Luxe. And, again, I have to comment on the holster and its fantastic design.

You're saying that you can see a tiny bit of the writing on the back, right? I see that too - doesn't bother me at all since I never even look at the back of my phone. Some people may worry that dust will get in there, but dust will get in regardless. All things considered, it's an awesome case and I think you'll be very happy with it. Glad to hear you like the holster too - I've generally heard great things about it.

I agree... no matter how well it fits all cases I have had get dust in them eventually.
I always take my phone out of the case once a week to "dust" them off ;)

Just a quick update.....

It's been 2-3 weeks, and I'm loving this Seidio Innocase II Surface. Best case.

Great build quality. Very minimal. It still looks brand new. I hardly see the need to take the case off, but when I do, the iPhone still looks as good as new. There are no new scratches on the back.

A few people have asked about it while I've been using my iPhone in public so that they could buy it for themselves.

The Spring Clip Holster is awesome. Great for the gym.

I'll update again if I can remember to......

I was using the Luxe for a bit. Probably about 6 weeks. I got it from ebay. I got a damaged one for sure. One corner of it was showing faded color. I kept it anyway. I liked the color (i got the pink) and the feel of it. It also added little bulk. My first case was the Rebel. I started to feel embarrassed with that case. Added way too much bulk and the design was for a 14 year old boy. Next was a white Colors. Felt very nice with clean simple look but i didn't like how much of the screen it covered (i'd put this case back on if i were to camping or hiking since it's adds a ton of protection). Next was the white Slider. Loved that til i felt after time it just added too much bulk when i put it in my pocket. Next was the Luxe. Much less bulk then the Slider but after time, the bottom would come off when i didn't want it too. It's like the button loosened up. My final and absolute favorite case is the iSkin Solo FX orange. Without a doubt the most perfect case. Adds very little bulk, adds grip, very cool looking and adds just enough protection.

I love my Seidio. I've had the black since a few weeks after the 3GS launch. Still looks brand new and has never scratched my phone at all, even though I haven't taken it off more than twice to clean the phone.

Your experience mimics mine and that of my wife's. She is extra hard on phones and has done no damage to her iPhone. It wasn't for the lack of trying!

When I found the Seidio Innocase II, my case searching days ended.
