Congrats on your new iPod =D I boguht mine recently too, and am loving it.
I don't know if it's any help or anything, but you could have bought one off eBay, new. I did and saved $250 AUS. Just a tip for any future Touch owners who are reading this, too.

I laugh when I see people say they are gonna pay for the upgrade. Simply because iTunes will give you it for free if you restore the device.
It also offers you the chance to download it after a fresh install (including deletion of the itunes folder from music) of iTunes 7.7 click on download only, hit restore when downloaded and boom 2.0 on your touch for free...... apple slipped up there lol
theres no hacking or warez involved as it is all through apple's own software

Refurb 16gb Ipod Touch
I just received my refurb. 16gb Ipod Touch today. Flawless exterior. Immediately bought a case and screen protector to try and conserve it.
I purchased the 2.0 upgrade. Wasn't sure if I should have jailbroken it though. I'm still learning about the whole jailbreak thing. I don't have a MAC. I know I know. lol Ya I have a PC.
Did I make a mistake on purchasing the 2.0 upgrade??

I've bought refurbed from Apple as well. I had no idea they were not new.

I haven't gotten my Touch yet, but I bought 2 refurbed nanos for my parents last spring and those were flawless.
i LOVE my touch! it's the best 200 dollars i've ever spent! (got it off ebay for 200 dollars. . hoorah!) i always tell people it's probably one of the best devices i have. my little ipod can friggin' do everything . . except help me find a boyfriend. but who needs a boyfriend when i have apple?

Good for you, the touch is great, had mine since october and i still love it, and so do my friends, with their greesy fingers i also give apple allot, i worked out i have spent over £3000 ($6000) on apple stuff and I'm only 15!!

My refurb arrived in flawless condition. I wouldn't have even known it was a refurb.
I got my 8gb yesterday in Flawless Condition too, The Apple Care guy told me that some ipod touch are either returned in the packed or shipped new but not picked up by the buyer or refunded so yes they are BRAND NEW
