Ignore a contact

I am a new iphone user. On my G1 I have the option to "mute" a contact, where it will go straight to voicemail. Does such a setting/feature exist on the iphone ?
 
I havent found a setting for that yet. I gave a local newspaper my number and now i want to just put them on an ignore list.
